About the Author

Born in Louisville, Sherry A. Burton was raised in the small town of Fairdale, Kentucky. Eloping December of 1980 while still in her teens, she has spent all of her adult life moving from state to state counting over thirty-two moves in her thirty-four years of marriage. Sherry can attest first-hand to the fact that a whirlwind marriage can indeed last. Sherry credits her frequent moves and long separations to her ability to feel her characters' desire to find true happiness.
Sherry has worked as a private nanny and is a certified dog trainer. She is the mother of three adult children and has six wonderful grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, walking, Pilates, and spending time with her "friends" which is how she refers to the characters she creates. She believes in daily affirmations, positive energy and feels that karma will have the final say.
Sherry A. Burton currently resides in Pennsylvania, and has several other books in the works, including a sequel to Tears of Betrayal.

Sitting at her vanity, Amber gazed at her reflection in the mirror; her deep, nearly black eyes stared back at her. Her mom had always said, “Your eyes Amber, they’re very special, they capture people. There won’t be a man alive who will be able to resist you when he looks into those eyes of yours.”
Jeff, her husband, had told her that her eyes had drawn him to her. He said he liked the way he could see his reflection in them.
Amber studied herself in the mirror. She was glad the wrinkles had not yet taken up residence on her face. Her eyebrows had an enviable natural arch and thankfully, she had inherited her mother’s nose. Not too big or too small, it was just right. Behind her full lips were straight, white teeth, making the three years of braces nearly worth it. She winced, remembering all the relentless teasing. Being referred to as “metal mouth,” “zipper mouth,” or “tin grin” was hard, especially combined with the small mole, which lay just to the left of her upper lip.
“Just like a movie star,” her mom would say. “Don’t worry about those kids, they’re just jealous that they don’t look like movie stars too.” No matter the dilemma – real or imagined – her mom always found a way to make her smile and see the bright side.
I wish you were here, Mom, Amber thought. I sure could use some of your happy thoughts.

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I could not put it down. I found myself laughing and crying right along with the characters. Easy read book with a nice flow and a truly happy ending. The author did a great job with this book and I am looking forward to reading more from her.

I really got caught up in this story. I just couldn't stop reading. I needed to find out what happened and how Amber and Dalton finally got together. I was laughing and crying at the same time. It was a easy read and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to read her other book.

I really loved Tears Of Betrayal!! I just couldn't put it down I got to chapter 39 an it almost killed me to go to bed. But I got up early the next morning to finish it. The author really did a fantastic job with this book. Amber and her BFF had me laughing out loud and I just wanted to help them bash Jeff, he was such a looser. I also fell in love with Dalton I loved hearing him talk. His love for his daughter brought tears to your eyes. He was such a gentlemen and I was cheering him on in his pursuit of Amber. Amber was such a great person and I cried right along with her and felt all her pain and joy thanks to the author. I felt like I was part of the book. Sherry did a great job with making sure every character had the right amount of time and you weren't left wondering what happened to any of them. I can't wait for the sequel! Great job Sherry your going to be one of the top romance author's, keep up the fantastic writing. You've got what it takes. I think the person who left a 1 star rating is a coward who can't leave their name because they love to go around making people feel bad. If you can't put a reason you shouldn't be rating a book at all. That't what I think.

The opening sentence is good. She is a talented writer, but I did not think the kissing scenes were well done. The author did not do a good job of explaining what the heroine did and felt when she found out what her husband had done to her. Amber remarried too easily. It seems to me that she married again just because her second husband was a great kisser and had a big house. It's like to see more spirituality and romanticism in the author's next book.

While this is certianly a romance novel, Sherry has established herself with this first novel. Great storyline with interesting twists, this was an excellent read. Watch out Nicolas Sparks!

Love this book by Sherry A. Burton! Bought the Kindle edition, and like the others who left reviews, I had it finished in only 2 days! I love the way that Sherry allows the reader to get to know her characters; you feel like you're part of the family. If you are a fan of romance novels, or even if you aren't (I wasn't until now), I highly recommend this book!

I bought this book because our husbands are serving on the same ship and thought it would be a great way to support a navy wife. I could not put this book down it keep me turning the pages to see how Amber over comes all the trails and tribulations she had to endure. When she met her prince charming is when the book became addicting. I must say I was hooked from the first few chapters though. A great read once you start you can't stop.

What can I say I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! " It is a wonderfully written love story that I had a hard time putting down (literally). I found myself wanting to jump to the end just to see how it ends (but I didn't). I laughed and cried while reading feeling every heart warming emotion. The in-depth witting makes you feel like you are in the story and holding your breath till the final page. I can't wait for the sequel because these two burned up the pages. I LOVED this book and found myself wanting to read it again and again. Look out Johanna Lindsey, Debbie Maccomber, and Nicholas Sparks there is a new girl in town and she is taking over! I can not wait to see Sherry A. Burton's next book because she is my new favorite. So, in short if you like any of the authors listed above you will Love "Tears of Betrayal".

I grew up reading romance novels due to having four sisters. They were usually good reads. I had a chance to read Tears of Betrayal recently, and I must say I was hooked pretty quickly. I wanted to beat up the husband and I might have been a tad drawn to Amber. This was a good read and I wound up really enjoying it.
