About the Author

Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Gina LaManna has also called Italy and Los Angeles home. At the moment she lives nine blocks from the beach and sometimes runs marathons. After studying numbers and equations in college, she realized multiple choice tests were "just not for her" and began writing books instead. She loves cappuccino foam and whipped cream and would subsist solely on sprinkles if possible. She has one imaginary dog.

Gina also writes the Mini Pie the Spy! books, under pen name, Libby LaManna, a children's series featuring an over-enthusiastic little detective, similar in style to Junie B. Jones.

Good mystery some parts were way too predictable and Misty was relatable. Not a complicated read and was nice to have on a rainy day. Ill pick up the next Misty mystery.

this was such a cute book. Imagine a town full of old fashioned, set in their ways, almost prudish people. then imagine a young woman inheriting her grandmother's house in that small town and opening a burlesque studio! It made for an interesting back story, that's for sure. When Misty moved back to Minnesota, and was the one to find her landlord dead, the town had problem envisioning her as the murderer. so she set out to prove them wrong and save herself from jail in the process. i want to read more in this series.

This was an excellent book! I had a hard time putting it down, but my family had to be fed. HA HA. The characters are well rounded and well developed. The only negative, I figured it out pretty quickly. There still enough questions that it was not spoiled at the big reveal. I enjoy Misty and Jax and hope they can work it out.

What an AMAZING read, couldn't put it down! If you like romance, mystery and laughs then this book is definitely for you, great combination. Gina LaManna did it again with the start of this new series, I can't wait for the next one, I definitely recommend this book.

Such a great, fast paced read! I immediately was hooked on the charming characters, suspense and nonstop humor. Misty, after returning to her hometown to open a burlesque dance studio, quickly becomes embroiled in a murder mystery that threatens her chance at a fresh start. I will anxiously awaiting the next Misty Newman Mystery!

Misty moved back to Little Lake for two reasons. She had inherited her Grandmother's house, and she wanted to spend more time with her little sister Harmony. She has put all her money into opening a studio to teach burlesque. Misty had been a dancer in LA until an accident tore her ACL and stopped her career cold. Her landlord is found dead in the alley behind the studio. He has been strangled with one of her fishnet stockings. Life spirals into chaos after she is accused of killing Anthony. Every character in this book is someone that anyone can find in their life or past to compare them with. It is small town living at its best and worse. Gossip spreads like lightening and everyone knows you. There is humor, mystery, romance and lots of surprises!

I definitely recommend this book! I didn't want to put it down. The main character Misty was the main suspect in a murder and her and her best friend, Donna went around town trying to find answers to who the real killer was Their adventures had me laughing out loud! Although I felt it obvious who the killer was, there many other suspects which just made for more entertainment. I will be waiting on the next book in this new series!
