I was very excited to get to continue the story of this teenage psychic. With so much rich detail in the descriptions of the characters and their surroundings this author paints a beautiful picture that makes it easy to imagine the characters and their lives. As a shaman healer and psychic medium myself I loved the detail in the story regarding each character's abilities. I can communicate with spirits who have crossed over but cannot see or hear earthbound spirits. This is something that is continually misunderstood among those who do not have these abilities. As each of us has a different and unique set of abilities, each one of us works in different ways. This book was a good and easy read. I could not put it down. It was very entertaining to see how all the story threads intertwined and came together. I would recommend this book to people of all ages. Nancy Scott Fields Creek Lady Healer

As an English teacher for over four decades, I know the interests of young people. The subject and its engaging protagonists will captivate teenagers as they did me. Caryn experiences all the pitfalls and angst of being a new college student. Adding a new man into her life was brilliant. making him, a Ghost Whisperer capped off the perfect girl/guy dynamics. It was a delight to watch the pair go from being antagonists to falling in love. I can't wait for the third installment of this series!

I have rated this book as all ages since there is no doubt that young adults will love it and since I am an "old" adult and loved it then it is for everyone who loves ghosts and a mystery. Caryn Alderson is a psychic and medium but unfortunately what she can see for others she is blind to when it comes to herself. She never saw that her boyfriend was cheating on her till she saw his photo with another woman. Since her breakup she has been in a funk and when her friend Annabeth Walton tries to fix her up with a new boyfriend she is not very receptive. Caryn is blessed to have a mother and three dads, her step-dad her biological dad and his partner. Her mom owns a new age bookstore where Caryn gives readings to clients to earn extra money. When Annabeth forces Caryn to attend Shakespeare in the Park to meet her boyfriend's best friend Gary, Caryn reluctantly attends but when she meets Gary Riddell there are no sparks just dislike. Caryn and all her friends including Gary are attending Hamilton Liberal Arts College, a college known to be haunted and has a paranormal following with the Ghost Stalkers Club. Caryn wants to be a reporter and Gary attends because of its theatrical program since he dreams of being a Shakespearean actor. Caryn has seen Gary apparently talking to trees but she soon discovers that he has the ability to see earthbound spirits (ghosts) something she cannot do. She can only see spirits that have already passed on. The dislike between Caryn and Gary does not ease up especially after Caryn writes a review dismissing Gary as an actor. She went to an audition and did not act as a reporter since she allowed her feelings to direct the course of the review. When the Ghost Stalkers Club is asked for help in removing a ghost from an old farmhouse it brings Caryn and Gary together but what they find in the house is much more than just a ghost it is something that effects both Gary and his mother. Caryn knows what is going on in Gary's life with help from her spirit guide her Uncle Omar. Gary lives with his mother who had him when she was just fifteen years old, he has nothing to do with his father in spite of his father's attempt to reconnect with his son and ex-girlfriend. Caryn knows what is going to happen but has to let things happen on their own. There are surprises some that I never saw coming. Caryn and Gary begin to work together and little by little their dislike turns into like. I loved this story and the characters were wonderful. A story that held my interest without sex and violence.
