Charming and romantic 4.5 I was delighted to read The Temptation of Lady Serena by Ella Quinn. It's a third book into The Marriage Games series. Ella Quinn is not a new author to me because I read and loved her first book, The Seduction of Lady Phoebe. She has done it again! She wrote this beautiful and charming Regency romance filled with tenderness! I loved her two main characters! Serena, a young woman, is forced to leave her home to be introduced to the world of the ton to find someone suitable for her to marry. Everyone close to her only wants her happiness. On the other hand, Robert is also forced to marry but having been betrayed once; he still wants to stay free. Their love relationship will have their ups and downs with a few twists. In Ms. Quinn's story, the family and dear friends always play an important part in the lives of her heroine and hero. I found this well written Regency story charming and sweet. Let yourself be carried away by her fascinating characters. Here is the story of two independent and stubborn characters that get a chance in love. I recommend this book!

Ella has a wonderful way with words. Her stories are so deep yet light reading at the same time. She changes common plots into new books. Her characters come across as real people. No one is perfect. Their flaws are worked on. Poor Robert found this out. Serena was not going to marry a tyrant or someone who was there in love. Serena wasn't one to give up. She told Robert what she expected or their marrying would not happen. Robert was terrified as he had seen his late parents happier when they were apart. Throw in some major problems on Robert's estate, kidnapped boys and you have a very busy story. I like Ella's books and try to every one I can find. I hope you enjoy this story too.

Ella Quinn is becoming one of my favorite romance authors. Each romance is filled with main characters you want to root for and supporting characters who make the journey of love more enriching. And the author has infused a wonderful sense of humor, especially into the supporting characters. Thank you Ms. Quinn---I have already preordered your next book due to be released in April?

Had to skip a lot and force myself to finish. Way too long with so much dialog and other detail completely unnecessary to the plot, if there even was one. There was no identifiable climax, just several small hiccups. Could have been over in a hundred pages. Maybe less.

Another great one! I love how in the beginning he seems to think she will just bow to his will but quickly realizes if he wants her to stay with him then he must treat her as an equal. It was wonderful to see Phoebe again from the first book and love how previous characters will interact still in the new books and how there is a 2nd love story in the book as well. Some of its predictable at times but still leaves you feeling great.

Fairy tale. Read with interest. Would recommend for those who love to read about love in luxury settings, with numerous servants, all good friends and relatives.

This is book 3 in The Marriage Game series. Lady Serena Weir must go to London for her first Season. Her brother has finally returned home and has a new bride.  Having lived a quiet life in the Scottish Borderlands, Serena is a little out of her depth. Luckily, she has her aunt and cousin to guide her along. Robert, Viscount Beaumont, is determined not to marry for love after a disastrous first love.  Unfortunately for him, he is captivated by Serena at first glance and she will only marry for love. Knowing this, Robert compromises Serena forcing her to accept his suit. What he doesn't know is that their friends and family will side with Serena to get him to see the error of his ways. Can Robert get Serena to marry him without his love or will Serena convience Robert that what he feels for is love? I had such high hopes for this story! I'd gotten to know Robert in the other two stories in the series and was looking forward to seeing him have his HEA. Unfortunately, the writing was awful.  It was so hard for me to get through this novel.  I mentioned in my review of The Secret Life of Anna Marsh that some of the writing was off and hoped that with each novel it would improve.  Unfortunately, with each novel the writing seems to be regressing.  I will say that the writing in the second half of the book did get better, but I had to keep pushing myself to get through the first half. Having said all that, I did enjoy the story line. Quinn added a bit of a mystery to the novel as well as a second love story. We were also able to visit the characters from the previous two books and have a peek into their lives. As hard as it was for me to get through is book, I do look forward to the next story in the series. There is a preview at the end of the book to wet your appetite.
