Janine, the wife of Jason, a retired builder, organizes a boys weekend with his old surfing mates, who he hasn’t seen for years due to an argument which broke the group apart. But now with Jason’s life coming to a premature end, she hopes with the aid of her ex-lover she can fulfill his long-time dream to relive his youth.
The scene is set for a wild weekend of drinking and surfing on a deserted beach with the greatest of waves. With a hired woody, Malibu boards and camping gear, they set out for the weekend of their lives, surfing, drinking and telling yarns. All goes well until some unexpected visitors arrive to complicate their weekend.
Karen and her girls arrive, to soak up the sun, causing a frenzy amongst the boys and a pairing off, which sees the weekend become one of love and frustration for Jason. Torn between life and death, wife and lover, he becomes alive and depressed, and presents a stunning conclusion which neither his mates nor Janine could have anticipated.
