Tempting Her Best Friend by Gina L. Maxwell

What happens in Vegas might not stay in Vegas...

Alyssa Miller is tired of waiting for her next-door neighbor to see her as more than just his best friend. Ready to let off some steam, she heads to Las Vegas for a romance book convention where, if she's lucky, she'll get down and dirty with one of the sexy cover models.

Dillon Alexander doesn't do commitment-especially not where his best friend is concerned. She deserves a man who can give her the world, not damaged goods. But when he realizes Alyssa intends to have a one-night stand on her vacation, he hauls ass after her to make sure he's the one to scratch her itch.

Neither of them expects their explosive chemistry to burn hotter than the lights on the strip, but with a little help from Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, a flamboyant matchmaker, and TSA, what happens in Vegas might not stay in Vegas...

This book was sooo good!! I loved Alyssa and Dillon. I enjoyed how they were friends their whole lives and kept this one secret from each other and they thought everyone else. Some of the stuff they said or thought made me laugh so hard! This book had me cheering for Dillon and urging Alyssa and her entourage to catch him. Trent was a great guy and I loved how he knew so many people and all of these people were willing to help someone they just met. I couldn't put this book down.

This book was a laugh out loud read.  If you read it for no other reason than to read the airport scene, you must read it for the airport scene. The author does a fabulous job of painting a picture of pure craziness.   That being said, the love scenes are super hot. Laughter and Sex...a winning combination in this reader's opinion.

## This book was so much fun to read. I truly enjoyed it and I know I will read this again and again because this is one of those feel-good stories you just can't resist. There was so much humor interwoven into the romance which is always a plus in my book. And don't even get me started with the sex scenes. Perfection. The two things I didn't like was that the hero slept with so many different women even though he was supposedly in love with the heroine all that time and once he confesses his love and devotion to the heroine she turned him down even though that's what she has been wanting for years. That didn't ring true. But if there wasn't that, there wouldn't be a book. And those things won't keep me from reading again. Nice job, looking forward to Maddy's story.

Absolutly loved it . I usually don't like reading short stories or books w/ less than 200 pages . I always end up frustrated n feeling like a lot of the story was rushed or left out. That was not the case w/this book. Absolutly loved it !!! Gina L. Maxwell is an amazing author.

Dillon and Alyssa have been best friends since childhood and both have fathers who can't commit to love and marriage. So you can imagine they don't think it would every work for them...so best friends it is. Problem is they are both secretly in love with each other. Alyssa decides its time to move on and hits a  romance book convention to liven up her life. Dillon decides..Oh no I don't think so. So begins a sweet short story of best friends to lovers. I really enjoyed this book

With a title that gives a huge hint at what to expect, Tempting Her Best Friend was a great short sweet read from Gina L. Maxwell with a good dose of sexy. Novella's often leave me wanting more, but this didn't - Alyssa and Dillon didn't need any more and it's set things up nicely for for more in the series. Aly and Dillon were completely loveable and having been best friends for 18 years they already know each other inside and out. They live next door to one another, they hang out together and they're relaxed around another. But when Aly, sick of waiting for Dillon to see her as more than his friend, departs for Sin City to find herself some sin, he decides to play his hand. "All you have to do is kiss me. If you can honestly tell me it feels like kissing your brother, that'll be the end of it." Play the odds or risk it all... Granted I pretty much guessed where the story was heading early on and it didn't hold any surprises, but I still enjoyed it hugely. Whilst much tamer than Gina's Brazen series, if you are a fan I doubt you'll be disappointed. A great sexy start to the What Happens in Vegas series and I look forward to seeing how Maddy's story unfolds. Copy received courtesy of Entangled Publishing for an honest and unbiased opinion.

Good book, but only 137 pages on the nook. Would have been better if there was more context of the story....sex scenes took up too much of the book.g

Almost overly descriptive writing. There wasn't much to this book. Poor character development and pretty much no plot. Couldn't even stand to finish it.

Very enjoyable story. I so much enjoyed Dillon. I liked the relationship Alyssa and Dillon start out with and the revelations each discover along the way. I marked the story down because Alyssa's thoughts, behaviors and actions in Los Vegas were so far out there. I just didn't understand what her problem was. Didn't make any sense. The characterization was solid and the change did not seem to jive. I was disappointed in that. I recommend to 14+, it was okay.

What a fun, quick read this was and it had me hooked from the first page. I just loved both Alyssa and Dillon, who have been best friends since they were kids. They both have some issues from their past that have them keeping their feelings for each other under wraps, but when Dillon finds out that Alyssa is going to Vegas and plans on hooking up with some cover model at the romance novel convention she is attending, well that is just not going to do…especially when Dillon is more than willing to help her out if a hook up is what she wants! I’m not sure what I loved more about this book – the snarky dialogue, the dirty talk, or the bizarre and colorful cast of characters that get woven into the story! How can you not love a heroine who can play just as dirty as the hero?  I just love Gina Maxwell and her writing style. It was so easy to get caught up in the story and I would often find myself laughing out loud at the banter between the characters and the situations they found themselves in. And of course who doesn't love a happy ever after, especially when there is some work involved to get there and the characters end up being exactly what the other needs to help them heal and learn to give their hearts completely. A great read that I thoroughly enjoyed! I was given a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review.

Gina Maxwell is category romance at its finest. Sweet, funny, sexy...and when the hero declares his love over the phone...beneath a balcony...In the midst a Vegas masquerade ball...well...all Romeos should just step aside. Hilarious and sweet. Love.
