This book gives you a good understanding of how your thoughts control your moods and enables you to do exercises to really think through what the author is saying and apply it to your own thoughts and feelings. This book really helped me look at myself and see how I was in control of my reactions and emotions and I have been able to see how those thoughts consequently control my moods.

this book is great. its interactive, and motivating. its a lot of work, and a commitment, but there is no change without work. i needed change. i feel more rooted in who i am. i do not suffer from low self esteem normally, so the title scared me...but cover up the cover of this book with a paper bag and forget it. it more about loving yourself enough to want to feel better, think better and be better.

I conduct self-esteem workshops for young girls and picked up this book while at the library. I read it and loved it. I am going to purchase the book and leader's manual for my personal library. I got alot of insight from this book that can help me in my workshops.

Any one with deppresion should get this book. it help me alot; with out it i would of been hopeless.

This is a wonderful book for developing self-esteem. The exercises are easy to follow and effective. Buy this book.

My outlook on life has been changed for the better in only the first few days of reading and working through this to-the-point self help workbook. Dr. Burns asks the reader to put thoughts on paper, then examine them for reasonableness, adjusting where necessary to arrive at a more optimistic, realistic view of life events. I can't wait to see how good I will feel by the last chapter!

Those who struggle with self-esteem issues understand that the process of developing healthy self-esteem is a daunting task. It takes determination, perseverance, and time to change one's attitude, develop new skills, and to become comfortable with a new way of thinking. Even the title of this book trivializes the subject. Such books may be helpful for people with basically healthy self-esteem who are going through a difficult time, but are discouraging for those who really struggle in this area because they know they cannot develop healthy self-esteem in 10 days--they've been trying for years.
