There is just enough mystery and a whole lot of laughs. I find myself reading his books in one or two settings. I just cannot put them down. The characters seem to be from my hometown. (Though not quite as murderous.)

A very funny series about an independently wealthy Episcopal church organist who is also the local police chief. He solves murders while writing cheesy crime novels (hilarious excerpts provided) ... and keeping up with the goings on at church, too.

I absolutely loved the first book, I thought the second one was not nearly as good but certainly had its moments. This is the third one I’ve read so far, and I think he’s starting to get the knack of it. Look forward to reading the next one. The characters are starting to flesh out, and his humor is getting craftier.
