Overview

TEQUILA + YOUR BEST FRIEND + YOUR BEDROOM = UM. WHOOPSIE?

Don’t sleep with your best friend.
Take it from me. I did it. And it was awful.
I-wish-the-tequila-made-me-forget kind of bad.
The problem is, Luke has forgotten. He swears that he can’t remember a thing about that night beyond the trays of tequila shots being set on the tables.
Except I can't forget. I can’t forget how good his hands felt until I fell over and hit my hip on the dresser, and I sure as hell can’t forget the entire two minutes of tap-tap-squirt.
Awkward. Embarrassing. And the new subject of a couple of dirty lucid dreams.
But I have no intention of telling him what we did. Nothing good comes from telling your best friend he’s the worst guy you’ve ever slept with.
Which makes the tequila on my birthday a very, very bad idea…

This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion. Let me start by saying this book had some really great aspects to it. I loved Luke’s family, the small town vibes, the ongoing mentions of food, and the overall story line. Having said all that, this one didn’t work for me 100%. I struggled with the maturity levels of practically everyone mentioned. The amount of eye rolls I made in this one… First off, I’m not much of a drinker. It’s just not my thing. So I may be off but it seemed like this group was a little old for the getting “black out drunk” phase. Once again, that’s just coming from someone who doesn’t really drink. I also felt we harped on the “oh man, we’re best friends how will we ever be romantic?” way too much. Like I get it, you are best friends who want more….either try or move on. Clearly this was a case of everyone knowing they should be together except the actual couple. I felt it was just common sense based on their attraction level to give this thing a go. I’m sure it’s awkward moving from a platonic relationship to an intimate one, but they would’ve transitioned flawlessly if they had just gotten out of their own heads. Okay, negative stuff out of the way and onto the positive. Luke’s Abuelita stole the show for me lol. I loved how passionate she was for her family. I also loved her passion for cooking. I swear I was drooling over all these food references. It made me wish I had her in my family. Overall, I enjoyed this one but didn’t love it. I’m still a fan of this author and her writing, it’s just that this one didn’t knock it out of the park for me. But that’s okay, we can’t love every single book we pick up.

Best friends since a young age Luke and Aspen did almost everything together. Then one night after to much Tequila that results in "Tap, tap, squirt" and changes it all. However, will it change for the better or ruin years of friendship? After awhile, they both realize that a relationship could or should be the next logical step for them because they know everything about each other and can skip the awkward step of actually dating. Emma Hart really has a way with words that draws you in and keeps you reading. Like her other books this one sucked me in and kept me reading until the end.

Tequila Tequila is hilarious, I laughed out loud many times throughout. It started out strong and just kept getting better. I love the banter between Aspen and Luke, their sarcasm, and overall the two of them together. Aspen is a snarky hot mess and is quite relatable. Luke's abuelita is hilarious and I love when she shows up. Who knew tequila and bad sex with your best friend could result in such a great story. I highly recommend it

Another amazing Emma Hart story!! Emma has this ability to take what should be a completely embarrassing situation and make it hysterically funny and relatable. How many other opposite sex BFFs do you know that would drink too much tequila (who hasn't done that?) and messed around with each other? It's enough to make you as a reader cringe with the embarrassment right? I felt for Aspen while trying to navigate this mistaken "forgotten" night of sex. I absolutely love every character Emma has ever created. There's always at least 1 crazy eccentric person who has the BEST comebacks and one-liners. So much that I always want to make notes so I can use them. Do yourself a favor and get Tequila Tequila and live vicariously through Aspen rather than have your own crazy drunken sex and embarrassing night with your friend.

What a hilariously entertaining book. But what book written by this author isn’t entertaining. Loved the whole best friends accidental hook up situation about it. Luke and Aspen have such a great chemistry. The things that come out of their mouths will make you crack up. Once I started reading i wasn’t able to put it down. Very entertaining and awesome characters. You will fall in love with everything in this story. Another 5 star rating!!!!

Tequila Tequila by Emma Hart is her newest standalone contemporary romance release. A romance based on friendship and aided by tequila, this quirky humored, sarcastic, hilarious, and awkward story of two best friends will put a smile on your face from the first page to the last with quite a few laugh out loud moments in between. Aspen and Luke have been best friends for over twenty years. But all that changes after one drunken night involving tequila, kissing and an awkward encounter in the bedroom. Both wake the next morning denying anything ever happened but are they telling the truth or do they both remember the terrible sex??? Keeping the peace may just mean denying it ever happened but when the way these two best friends look at each other now that their friendship blinders slipped loose could spell disaster for their current situation but all kinds of awesome for a new definition of best friends that includes romance. Between a crazy flip-flop slapping abuelita and some other questionable friends can Luke and Aspen even stand a chance or will this rag tag group of family and friends be the ones to actually nudge them in the right direction? Loved this. Well-written and well-paced, Emma Hart just gets better and better with each release. Enjoy!

Tequila Tequila by Emma Hart is a funny friends to lovers book. It is done in a unique way that just has you cringing and then everything starts coming together. I could not stop panicking for the two characters when this book first started. It was incredible to watch unfold. Aspen is incredible and her personality made this book amazing. She went for things and then she would panic. I feel like it was really realistic. I adored Luke and his family. I especially love books that include a part of my Mexican culture. I could not stop laughing at the chancla. It is so true it is hilarious. I loved abuelita! She made this book so enjoyable. Strong writers always write the best secondary characters. Tequila Tequila was a hit for me. It had all the elements of a rom-com that I enjoy. I’m excited for what Emma Hart will write next.

First there was tequila. A loooottt of tequila. The tequila led to kissing, which led to much more than kissing, and, well, when you're doing much more than kissing with your best friend, it's not a good thing. Or is it...? As romantic comedies go, TEQUILA, TEQUILA is right on. Funny, snarky, sexy, author Emma Hart's done it right. In Aspen and Luke, she's written two people that go together in every other way, so it seems like, despite the bumps along the way, ending up together, and as more than BFFL's, is their natural course. Emma's heroines are some of my favorites, because they're always full of sass and not afraid to use it. Aspen's take-n0-prisoners approach to life is the perfect foil to Luke's 'guy friend plus,' and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them find their way to their HEA. I always know what I'm getting when I crack open one of Emma's books, and TEQUILA, TEQUILA does not disappoint. It's a rollicking, laugh-out-loud (yeah, sorry about that, unsuspecting bystanders), feel good read that left me smiling, and it will you, too. Pour yourself your favorite beverage, settle in, and enjoy.

Another entertaining friends to lovers story by Hart. I'm always so impressed with how she always has at least one secondary character that steals the show. In this case, Luke's grandmother is hysterical and completely stole the show. This book shows why she is one of my go-to authors.

What a wonderful enjoyable entertaining story that had characters that made you fall in love with them and all their quirks! Luke and Aspen have been best friends for twenty years and after a drunken night of doing it and pretending they both forgot, needless to say that what follows are some fun banter, great friendships and some truths get blurted out! I absolutely loved Lukes grandma, she was a hoot, Id love one of her! His family was too funny and rather out there crazy but also quite endearing!! The flirting, the tension, the other best friend Blaire and her need to be direct and push both Aspen and Luke is too funny!I loved this easy to read friends to lovers story that really touches your heart!! What happens when you see your best friend in a different way??? Read this for yourself, you wont be sorry!

4.5 Stars No doubt about it, some of my worst hangovers and unforgettable shenanigans have been caused by Tequila, the deadly and potent elixir of the Mexican gods. And by deadly I mean most folks wish they were dead after consuming too much of it; either because of their hangovers or recalling their embarrassing antics, and wishing they were dead. This is what happens to Aspen and Luke, the main characters in Tequila, Tequila. This friends-to-lovers Romantic Comedy involves best friends and lots of Tequila and the aftereffects of a night drinking too much of it. This hilarious romance has a cast of characters that I fell in love with, most especially Abuelita; a loving and meddlesome grandmother that rules her family, by threatening them into submission by the feared and dreaded “chancla” or sandal, to those of y’all not familiar with the word. “Loving someone is one of the easiest things you can do in your life, but putting that love into action? That’s the hard part.” Aspen Camden and Luke Taylor have been best friends for twenty years, since they were in kindergarten. When they realize they had drunken sex, after a night of drinking too much Tequila, they both pretend it didn’t happen. Aspen is adamant that this could kill their lifelong friendship while Luke is mostly embarrassed by his lack luster performance. “This had the potential to ruin our friendship. Good sex may not have been an issue, but bad sex? The worst sex ever? Yep. That meant it was a goner.” Aspen and Luke had that funny and easy dialogue that only people who’ve known each other their entire lives have. While Aspen was so reticent about them being more than friends, Luke was starting to have second thoughts and realizing it might not be such a bad idea. And the more people who found out, or were told, about that night weren’t so surprised as much as wondering why Luke and Aspen had taken so long to get together. Almost as if it were a given. “Love is easy. Relationships are hard. But, if you love someone enough, nothing is ever too hard to fight for.” I loved the interaction between Aspen and Luke, their friends, and his combative family. They all had me laughing out loud and wanting to drink a few shots of tequila, too. Accompanied by quesadillas and tacos, made by Abuelita! “Egos always need feeding.” “So do internet trolls, but it doesn’t mean you should serve them a three-course dinner.”

This has to be my favorite book my Emma to date! It was laugh aloud hilarious. Luke and Aspen have you cracking up from the beginning and I could not put their story down. You can tell that they are close and best friends, but you can also see why they were meant for each. They just needed help in realizing that. Enter the Tequila Tequila. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite subject genres and Emma nailed it with this story! It's full of the witty banter you're used to with her other books and let’s not forget the snark. You get to enjoy both Luke and Aspen's perspectives which gives you the needed dialogue to see their individual struggles. I loved the story and am on my way to read it for a second time.

She did it again guys! This book full on make me laugh out loud in a middle of a coffee shop and get weird looks, but it is so worth it. Now I am just going to take a shot of tequila because it sounds so damn good.

Tequila, Tequila is the latest laugh out loud romantic comedy from author Emma Hart. This story hits all the marks with humorous moments, sexy good times and characters that just keep you begging for more. From the moment I picked up Tequila, Tequila I was positively hooked on Aspen & Luke. The very first chapter had me hiding my face and dying of laughter all at the same time. Aspen & Luke have the very best friendship and nothing could possibly shake these two...that is until one night when copious amounts of tequila are involved. This night changes absolutely everything and turns this duos axis totally upside down. I loved watching these two deal with the moments after; trying to navigate their way through all the things. Aspen & Luke had amazing chemistry and I couldn't wait to see just how their story was going to play out. Bottom line, Tequila, Tequila was a totally fun read. It made laugh. It made me swoon. I totally got lost in the characters and their story. This is one of the cutest best friends to lovers romances that I've gotten my hands on so far this year. Aspen & Luke's story is funny with just the right amount of sarcasm and sexy. With little to no drama Tequila, Tequila will have you devouring this story in just a few short hours and in the end, you'll be left with a huge grin on your face. I had a wonderful time getting swept up in Aspen & Luke's story and am excited to see what this author has in store for us next!

Sarcasm galore, hilariously funny, laugh-out-loud situations and dialogue, low angst, and sexy fun. This book has everything I love in a romantic comedy. The characters are a hot mess, and I do mean all of the characters. What impressed me most about this quirky bunch of characters is that they all add something to the story - from Luke's grandmother and her flip-flop to the irritating Justin constantly flirting with Aspen - there are no throwaway characters here. Even the waitress who causes a bit of jealousy serves to move the story along. From start to finish, the whole book is wildly entertaining and a ton of fun. I'm a huge fan of sarcasm, and absolutely loved Emma Hart's use of it here. Not only was it the source of more than one chuckle, but it's brilliantly timed. This is my first read by Emma Hart, but it certainly won't be my last.

Friends to lovers, spice, funnies, Tequila Tequila was a refreshing read. Luke and Aspen had chemistry, and a fabulous friendship. When it becomes more, only one remembers... Surrounded by a loud cast of supporting characters, Luke and Aspen navigate their new feelings. Aspen is bold, and caring. Luke is a bit on the quieter side compared to her. The characters complement each other well. Overall, Tequila Tequila was a laugh out loud funny book. The story is fun and interesting, and the characters keep you entertained. It's a one sit read, and a fabulous take on friends to lovers.

Oh my gosh, I don't think I can tell you just how much I LOVED this book! Even all the things that usually annoy me in stories, the not telling someone when you should tell them, even with those kind of standard story aspects, this is going to be one of my all time favorite books. Because even with those things, I still feel like the way they reacted when the secrets were revealed was realistic. No one got all mad at the other, but they did get nervous and embarrassed, and that to me, is real. Something I could see people actually doing. Now, the best part of this book, was the comedy part. I usually only post updates on Goodreads when I have to stop reading and am marking my progress in the book. But as I was reading this one, I had to stop a few times and mark the progress along with a quote or anecdote about the story. Like the part about how being set up on a date could be compared to a dog having their face rubbed in their own mess. Or the part when Aspen's best friend tells her: "I'm ordering you a pizza. You're dumb when you're hungry." The characters in this book are just so real! All the hangups that Aspen has about losing her best friend, as well as being embarrassed about what happened, and how it has changed her feelings, all real, something I have either felt in the past myself, or could totally see myself feeling. And then there was Luke's family! So funny. I mean, actual, literal, laugh out loud funny. I am honestly not kidding when I say that Emma Hart is probably going to become an all time favorite, must meet author of mine. Now, who can convince her to either go sign at Book Bonanza in Dallas next year, or maybe stop by my hometown next year for Kinky in Kansas City? I have to meet her and tell her how much I love her stories! This review was originally posted on Lisa Loves Literature.

I love this BFF'S to lovers story. Luke and Aspen were such a cute couple. I loved how easy they were around each other even when their relationship turn to lovers. I could relate on so many levels since my husband was also my BFF before we started a new relationship. And don't get me started on the side characters. I love Abuelita. My family is from the Balkans so I know how bad and loud a family gathering can be. This story was a short, funny, full of sarcastic banter that will leave you with watery eyes from laughing out loud. You can not and will not go wrong with picking up this book.

It never ceases to amaze me how funny Emma Hart is! I am always cracking up at her books and Tequila, Tequila is no exception. Aspen is wonderfully sarcastic and has no filter with her best friend. Luke is very entertaining too, I absolutely love their friendship dynamics. They will do a lot for one another and really care, but they also know exactly how to push the others buttons. As a quick side note Luke's family is so much fun to read about. I think his grandmother would get along well with another Italian grandmother from Holly Woods, just sayin. I really liked seeing these two navigate through awkwardness and friendships and dirty dreams. They have such a natural chemistry and I liked seeing how it evolved with new feelings. I did like their best friend hook up storyline and that it didn't feel like others that I have read. I really enjoyed these two so much and flew through this book!

Where to start with this book! It seriously had me laughing the entire time. The banter between not just Luke and Ashton, but the secondary characters was beyond entertaining. These two had chemistry in spades. Whether it was between the sheets or on their first date, they just fit. And, I feel like Abuelita needs to get an honorable mention here. She was definitely my favorite secondary character, and my goal in life has now become to be just like her when I get older lol. A funny laugh out loud read that I would highly recommend!

I loved this cute story of Best friend who slowly transform their relationship with thanks to tequila. Luke and Aspen were a great couple and their relationship as best friends was something a lot of us wish we had. I have to say that Luke's grandmother was absolutely hilarious.
