Terror Cell by Joseph H. Badal

Terror Cell is an intellectually dazzling suspense thriller with a historical context about a terrorist group that plans a catastrophic attack during the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, and the efforts of a CIA special-ops officer, Danforth, to prevent the assault. Danforth’s mission becomes even more difficult when he himself is targeted for assassination. The fictional terrorist organization is based on the actual Marxist group, 17 November, which caused murder and mayhem in Greece from 1975-2002.  A timely and gripping story with real-life implications due to the uncertain political climate and security concerns in the upcoming 2004 Olympic Games.

The author has an extensive marketing experience and personally contributed to selling out the print-run of his previous novel.  A national book tour, extensive electronic media interviews and promotional events are scheduled. Prominent authors, including Tony Hillerman, will provide endorsements.  Reviews and print advertising will be in mystery genre publications as well as mass market print publications.

Terror Cell is the second outing in the Bob Danforth series, and it is a dandy! Bob is back in Greece for the CIA where he is faced with multiple terrorist threats and geopolitical intrigue on a grand scale. His career and his life are on the line along with the lives of his wife and now grown Army officer son. The action is non-stop and the body count is high. The only thing more a thriller lover can ask for is excellent writing, and author Joseph Badal delivers in it spades. Highly recommended.

'Terror Cell' is thoroughly entertaining and makes all too real the challenge in discovering and interdicting motivated terrorists. Characters seem real and place descriptions vivid. The story line is as complex as any concocted by a big name novelist. It is a straight forward good guy/bad guy tale and there is a steady build-up of tension as the story progresses. I thoroughly enjoyed the intrique and characters and could not wait to get to the next chapter.
