Texans have a love affair with bluebonnets. The lore of bluebonnets started with native american legends explaining the beauty of blue covered hills. In 1901 it became the state flower after much debate, called the bluebonnet wars. Learn how bluebonnets germinate and bees pollinate. Ennis opens their town each year to celebrate with a festival so others can enjoy their beautiful fields. Bluebonnets are the first arrival of spring along Texas highways.
