Always can read and love a Jodi Thomas book. Add a handsome quiet cowboy from the past, danger, Christmas and you have a story to enjoy. A book to read and share.

Jodi Thomas is a master of romances about lonely people finding companionship and love. This novella involves a lonely woman, Maggie, running a general store in a 19th century Texas town. For some reason which wasn’t clearly explained, she’s never interacted much with the people of the town. Now she’s a spinster living a life she never really wanted. One night a bunch of outlaws decide to rob her store and rape her. She’s saved by Sam Thompson, a man whom she knew briefly and was friends with when they were both six years old. But they’ve both remembered each other kindly. Sam is part of a family that lives outside town and never associates much with the townspeople. Maggie ends up having to hide out at Sam’s hidden ranch while the outlaw chief seeks revenge. These two lonely people make a connection with each other and find love while fending off the threat from outside. I enjoyed this book, as I have all of Jodi Thomas’s books. However, the short form means that it is all wrapped out rather quickly with not much time to develop Sam and Maggie’s relationship. I appreciate how Thomas usually builds up the relationships between characters and she just didn’t have the time to do an adequate job in a novella. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

One Wish – A Christmas Story by Jodi Thomas Heartfelt deeply abiding love story – such a warm and wonderful story that I would eagerly read again! Sam Thompson and Maggie Allison were outcasts in school when both were six and as a result formed a friendship that both remembered for over twenty years. When Sam saved Maggie in her shop one night it set in motion a chain of events that would change their lives a very positive way. This story told of two people that so deserved the happiness they thought they would never find and it warmed my heart reading how their HEA came about. I would love to have a peek into their lives in ten or twenty years because I am sure that the love they found would last more than a lifetime. Did I enjoy this novella? Definitely Would I read more by this author? Without a doubt Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Zebra for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

Wow, this was an amazing read. I thought it sounded like a good book so I decided to read it. I couldn't have been more surprised. I absolutely loved this book. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down until I was at the end and I still wanted more. There was so many wonderful things about this book. It had wonderful, endearing characters. The vivid descriptions made me feel like I was there. The storyline flowed seamlessly from the beginning until the end. I would love to read more stories in this idyllic setting. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story.

One Wish is a phenomenal holiday read by Jodi Thomas. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Thomas has provided readers with a well-written book populated by a stellar cast of characters. I totally loved the characters in this story! Emma runs the mercantile in a western town and is mostly friendless. Sam and his relatives mostly keep to themselves away from town. Sam and Emma's story is loaded with drama, humor, sexy bits, action and suspense. I enjoyed every page of this book and look forward to reading more from Jodi Thomas soon. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"A Texas Christmas" is a holiday delight for lovers of Historical Western Romance. Four of the top writers of the genre, Jodi Thomas, Linda Broday, Phyliss Miranda, and DeWanna Pace, each contribute a holiday romance centered around the small town of Kasota Springs, TX. When a fierce Winter storm rocks the Texas Panhandle, lives are changed forever and hearts are brought together in unexpected ways. In "One Wish: A Christmas Story", by Jodi Thomas, childhood friends Sam Thompson and Maggie Allison are reunited when Sam saves Maggie's life during an attempted robbery at her general store. In childhood, they were both "misfits", and they formed a strong bond. Separated for years when Maggie was sent away to school, can they now renew their relationship, and find a lifetime love? "Naughty or Nice", by DeWanna Pace, pairs an Eastern society gentleman with a feisty frontier female. When James Elliott III is rescued from certain death in a snowstorm, his rescuer is Anna Ross, who happens to own the local saloon. At first, they seem to have little in common, but each of them has a secret. Neither of them is exactly what they seem, and they soon find themselves very attracted to each other. Can they convince themselves that theirs is more than just an "opposite attraction"? In "The Christmas Bell", by Linda Broday, handsome rancher Sloan Sullivan arrives by horse-drawn sleigh to rescue a train full of stranded passengers. On that train is the beautiful and wealthy Tess Whitgrove, whom Sloan has long admired and considered to be out of his reach. Sloan's pride and Tess's society status has kept him at a distance, but time spent in her company in the close quarters of the snowbound train makes him rethink his opinion of the lovely lady. When they are free at last, will the intense attraction they feel for one another bind their hearts and lives together forever? Phyliss Miranda ties all the story lines together and adds a fun, touching romance with "Away in the Manger". Blacksmith Randall Humphrey keeps to himself as much a possible, has his life in order just the way he likes it, and thinks his content to be on his own. When a beautiful blonde with Texas blue eyes and two adorable children all come into his care, his world is turned upside down. Lovely Sarah Callahan and a precocious set of three-year old twins become Rand's holiday guests when the town of Kasota Springs is whitewashed by a blizzard. Rand is not as permanently grumpy as first thought, and soon Sarah sees beyond his rough exterior to the gentle giant's tender heart. When he goes out of his way to provide a Christmas to remember for her and the children, Sarah knows he has won her heart. Will Rand let go of a past heartache and reach out for the love and happiness he has found with Sarah and the children? The four talented authors who collaborated to bring us this romantic holiday treat also have written numerous other Texas-themed historical romance anthologies. I look forward to reading them all.

None of the stories just grabbed me and pulled me in. They were OK, not sure if I will revisit them though.
