It was a good book, but not good as #2 Book was. Too much About sheep, not enough romance.

I thought this was a very enjoyable read. I found it hard to put down until the very end. It was exciting and I felt like I knew the characters by the end of the book. "I received this book from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review."

Delightful conclusion to a dynamic historical western romance series I enjoyed TEXAS WILDCAT by Adrienne deWolfe. Bailey McShane is the dead-last female cattle rancher Zack Rawlins would ever consider courting...and that makes for a romance filled with sparks, humor, laughter, and enough conflict to carry out this full-length historical romance. Between the stock-killing drought (Bandera County, TX), the range wars of sheepherders vs cattlemen, a ferocious cougar on the prowl, Bailey's battle to survive as a female landowner and determined rancher in a man's world, there's a lot of interconnecting story elements. Even more rewarding than the humorous interactions between the Rawlins clan (who we've seen fall in love and marry in books 1 and 2) and the incredibly well-written action scenes were the significant internal changes wrought by the clash of wills between Bailey and Zack. It was so rewarding to see how their deep seated fears and past hurts played such a significant role in how they reacted to challenges, conflict, sparking off each other, and the resolution. I was so deep in Bailey's point of view (and Zack's, in turn) that they could get away with seemingly unsympathetic behavior....because I understood them as living, breathing people. They each earned my respect...and desperately deserve their happily-ever-after. Incredible scenes with such sharp focus are interspersed with sections that fell short in moving me as intensely. Less showing and more telling in those passages....but I guess it can't all be full throttle all the time. I highly recommend this series to fans of western historical romance. While it's not necessary to read this series in order, I recommend doing so. Each book includes one Rawlins brother as the hero and the other two as secondary characters. Each story is so very different as far as themes, conflict, characterizations, yet so very similar in quality of writing and depth of 3-D characters. Each of the three books are on my Keeper Shelf...and I'll likely read them again! Kudos to the author, Adrienne deWolfe. ~Kristin
