About the Author

Cambria Hebert is the author of the young adult paranormal Heven and Hell series, the new adult Death Escorts series, and the new adult Take it Off series. She loves a caramel latte, hates math and is afraid of chickens (yes, chickens). She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair. She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband and children (both human and furry) where she is plotting her next book. This book was so unrealistic, I had a hard time finishing it. I hung in there, though, waiting for it to improve. Sadly, it did not. The police response to the kidnapping was ridiculous. 20 minutes worth of research on how law enforcement handles kidnappings would have been a good use of the author's time. Ditto for researching how hospitals handle medical emergencies. And how 911 works. Then, after all Honor went through, the sexual assault, kidnapping, multiple broken ribs and other assorted injuries, she's having crazy sex with the hero (a complete stranger) a day later. Really? Also, returning home alone, not far from where she was kidnapped, and not seeing the safety risks, even after they were pointed out? A too-stupid-to-live heroine with amazing recuperative powers. Good thing there was a marine there to take charge of her. Don't waste your money.

I have to admit this book had me from the first minute and I LOVED it! The story was brilliant! I adore Cambria Hebert and her stories. The angst comes from what is happening around the couple and not the typical relationship angst that other authors seem to favor. I don't want to give too much away because this is a book that just needs to be experienced. All that you really need to know is that there was a girl named Honor who goes for a run to only be kidnapped. She steals her captors phone and gets enough of a signal to send a text that saves her life. Nathan has some personal demons from being at war over seas when he couldn't save the members of his troop but with one text he has moment to redeem himself and save this unknown female. This text is the catalyst to a bucket load of more drama but also for hope and love. She placed her palm over the center of my chest, right above my hear. All sense of joking totally left my body. I swallowed. "It's why you need all those muscles, isn't it? To protect what's in here." And those where the words that wrapped me right around her little finger. I LOVED THIS BOOK! and I highly suggest to read it.

4.5 Suspenseful, Romantic Stars Text was by far the best one in this standalone series. It had the perfect blend of suspense and romance, something I'd been missing from the others. The character development, and the relationship between Nathan and Honor seemed real and genuine. I was hooked and didn't want to stop reading. The book starts out with Honor being kidnapped while out on a run. But she's no weakling. She fights like hell, almost escapes. But he still manages to dump her in a hole and leave her there for God knows how long. However, Honor is one smart cookie. As soon as he leaves, she pulls out the cell phone she stole from his pocket. When someone texts this guy's phone, Honor takes the opportunity to explain her situation. Even knowing that this person was a friend of her kidnapper's and that they could very well be in on it, she sent the person a text. Praying, hoping that they'll listen. That they'll send someone to rescue her. Nathan thinks it's a joke at first, a prank. But he knows it isn't his friend, Lex, who is texting him because they're playing poker and Lex hasn't been using his phone. When he realizes that his friend really had kidnapped someone, he takes action. And action is what he knows, because Nathan is a Marine, trained and armed. He takes matters into his own hands and rescues Honor. But Lex gets away, leaving them all wondering where he went and if he'll be back to finish what he started. The damsel in distress and the rescuer form a bond, a connection. Nathan and Honor become extremely close in so little time. He saved her, and ultimately, she saved him. Even with what happened, Honor knows she's safe with him. That she can trust him. He proves, over and over again, that he's a stand-up guy, a real-life knight in shining camouflage. As their bond deepens, they start to fall in love. Real, deep love. And it worked for these two! Most of the time, I'd be screaming insta-love. But these characters, with their strong personalities and maturity, made the relationship and bond seem genuine and normal. I suppose it is normal for people to bond like that in intense situations. But their new love is about to be tested. Lex hasn't given up, and because of Honor's escape, it's given him a challenge. A challenge he won't back down from. But he underestimates Honor's strength and Nathan's determination. And it's they who win in the end. Like I said, this book is my favorite of this series. I loved Honor's and Nathan's relationship and their characters' personalities. Text had the perfect blend of romance and suspense, a wonderfully written love story interwoven with the horror of being kidnapped and almost being killed.

I loved, loved, loved this book and could not put it down. I’m a jogger and it had me on the edge of my seat throughout most of it.  The story is terrifying believable. I love the way that Cambria Hebert weaved her characters together. Nathan Reed is an active duty marine who is swept into a frightening rescue all because of one text. What I found so enjoyable about this story was the way the characters talked to each other. It felt very real.  Nathan doesn’t jump in and believe what he sees on his phone right away, but he doesn’t turn his back either. I just loved the way it all played out. I love Cambria’s unique twist on a subject such as this one and it made it so enjoyable to read. Thanks for writing such a great book Ms. Hebert

My Review 5.0 Star Review – Text (Take It Off #4) I recommend this book. I enjoyed this book by Cambria. This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, pain, kidnapping, and betrayal. Cambria takes you on a wild suspense filled ride. If you were tossed in a hole would you reply to a text that came to the kidnappers phone? It does not take long to fall for Nathan. He is a total Alpha male. When he gets a text he jumps into action to save the woman he has never met. Honor is texting a friend of the kidnapper. Is it safe or is she just making an already bad situation worse? You can feel the compassion and protective feeling rolling off of Nathan. Honor is a strong woman but even the strongest woman needs protection sometimes. Nathan is by far my favorite of this series. Some of my favorite quotes "You know how to shoot a gun?" "Nope." I passed it back to her. "Safety's off. Point it and then pull the trigger." "What if I shoot myself?" "Don't." "Thanks for the lesson." "Anytime, babe." Her muffled giggle made me smile. "You ready?" All traces of the joking, friendly air that surrounded us up until that point now vanished. Honor was the light that flooded my darkness. She was the glasses to my partially blind eyes. Her kisses were like balm to my wounded soul. Her determination to survive even when odds were against her was my wakeup call.

What a great concept for a book. I used to be an outdoor runner until this idea crossed my mind, now it's the gym for me. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who fears this situation might happen while on the trail! Loved the story and the love Nathan and Honor had for each other!

4.5 Stars!! Well, I did it. I judged a book by its cover and I was soooo off base as to what I thought this story was going to be about! I mean, there’s hot abs on the cover, which led me to believe it would be a fluffy story about love at first sight. It was, but it wasn’t. But I was glued to it, folks. I couldn’t walk away until I had it finished. This is the story of Honor. She’s a romance writer, and while out for a run one morning she is attacked, abducted and thrown into a hole in the middle of the woods. She manages to snatch her abductor’s cell phone and tries calling for help. That fails, but then she receives a text on the phone and asks for help in reply. It just so happens that the man texting is Nathan. A marine who unknowingly is playing poker with the man who, it turns out, is a sicko who abducts and rapes women. He finds Honor and saves her from the woods, but that plunges them into a dangerous cat and mouse game with the abductor, who is hell-bent on revenge. This book really blew me away. It was exciting, sexy and just a good read. This is the part of my review where I would normally criticize the insta-love aspect of the story, because the characters have an instant attraction to one another and even though they have just been through a terrifying experience, still manage to flirt with one another. But I can’t fault the author for that, because in this story it actually works. The way the writer has written this, from the perspective of a romance novelist, she addresses the absurdity of it in Honor’s inner monologue, so I have to give her a pass. It’s genius, seriously. I really liked the characters in this story as well. Honor has some serious fight in her. She’s small, but she’s a firecracker. She never, even in dire circumstances, gives up hope. She keeps fighting. And Nathan, a war vet with inner wounds of his own, manages to be both alpha and sensitive; endearing yet tough. I’ve said before that I think that’s a tough line to toe when writing an alpha character, but Cambria really hits the nail on the head with Nathan. He’s a great guy, and he and Honor are perfect for one another. And even though there’s insta-love, she still manages to create romantic and sexual tension between the characters. That’s an absolute feat, as that’s my main complaint with insta-love is that there’s no build up! This has build-up! It’s awesome! I found this book utterly captivating. It’s unlike any book I have read in recent memory, and I was totally surprised by it. If you haven’t picked this up yet, do it! You will love every minute of it! 4.5 stars! First off I want to give Cambria a HUGE thank you for providing me with a ARC copy of this book to review for this blog tour, YOU ROCK <3 I love these novella type books that combine to a series, but you can still read them as a standalone :) I personally think this book, is my favourite so far in the "Take It Off Series" I just fell in love with Nathan *Sigh* Cambria chucks you in the deep end straight away, packed with the action, there's no building up to being kidnapped, just, BAM straight into this piece of action! I like that Cambria used her OWN life resources in this book. I.e did you know that Honor's house is actually an old house Cambria lived in, in Pennsylvania. She named Nathan after her son, and got the Marine Corp idea, from her husband, who in fact is in the Marine Corps, who, might I add, was stationed also like her character Nathan, in Allentown, so technically writing this book came naturally to Cambria, well the location, not the Kidnapping part, thank god :) Honor is a writer in this and Nathan is one HOT marine corp. Anyway like all heroins, Nathan, has a past, and a hard one at that. Things he's seen whilst on the job, and has nightmares at night. That one fateful night is constantly playing on his mind, and confusing his judgements, his outlook on his life. Of course that all changed with a single TEXT.... Strange things happen when your life is on the line....... Love blossoms in the most awkward and strangest  of places.... With a sicko on the loose, both Nathan & Honor are running against time to save one another. There were moments in this book that will definitely make you cry a little, or even laugh, hell I know I did. I have to tell you about a certain part, it might not be funny or make you smile like it did me, but hey I can't help fangirling. There's a scene in this book where Honor is sat at home and she decides to catch up on her reading, so we wangs out her Kindle and ohhhh what do we have here.......she's not only reading a freaking book by Jennifer L Armentrout! I want to know which it was?? Covenent Series? Lux Series? Adien Vs Damon??? And to say that Cambria mentions another author in her OWN book, is AWESOME. So much LOVEAGE going on right now! Anyway you will be taken on an a journey of self discovery, torture, turmoil, but throughout there is a strong suit keeping Honor sane, a rock who stands by her through thick and thin.....Nathan. This is definitely a MUST read, grab your copy now. I can't wait for Julie & Blue's story in "Tispy" Coming December 2013
