From the moment Nick Farrington rescues Emily Hollinger from an embarrassing situation, he knows she's special. For her part, when her credit card is rejected and he comes to her rescue, immediately asking her out, she has no time to think. Turning his invitation down, she returns to work and her senses, bemoaning the fact that she's just denied herself a chance to get to know him better.
Attending a mandatory event, Emily's gloom turns to hope as the two meet again. This time she is prepared and accepts his invitation to dinner. She discovers that he is not only a great guy who is interested in every aspect of her life, but as an alpha male, he is also willing to offer a solution to her main problem: her 'lack of organization'. She quickly learns that her inability to keep to their agreed upon solution results in a trip across Nick's knees. Despite her shock, she soon realizes that no task is too large with the proper motivation.
All is going beautifully until the day she spots that beautiful orange gown in a little boutique. Surely no man could deny her need for such a gorgeous gown – right? Is orange the new black, or will Nick educate her that the color is more reflective of flames; a more fiery shade of red?

Emily and Nick meet at a cash register when Emily's credit card is declined. Nick pretends to know her and pays for her meal as well as his. What an awesome start to a book! Nick is a financial counselor, helping people get out of debt. He doesn't know it, but Emily needs his help! They meet again at a wedding and start dating. Nick helps Emily with a budget and let's her know that he will be spanking her when she doesn't follow her budget. She is doing well until she decides that she needs a new dress for a dinner she is going to with Nick. She comes up with a plan with Nick’s sister to get a dress without Nick knowing. Unfortunately, he finds out that the beautiful orange gown is new, not borrowed as she told him. He gives her a severe spanking for lying to him and has her return the dress. Going forward, she follows the program and they fall more in love. That beautiful orange own wil show up again, though. I really enjoyed this story. Even though Nick spanks her, he respects her as a strong, independent woman. I enjoy books that don't characterize the female lead as a woman who needs to be told what to do. There is a wonderful HEA. I give this story 5 stars.
I WILL MAKE SURE YOU’RE SAFE, HEALTHY, AND HAPPY What a sweet and special story. I loved all the characters and their interaction. Emily Hollinger and Nick Farrington met by accident but had chemistry from the beginning. Emily has had a rough life, losing both parents in a tragic house fire while a Junior in high school. Her family lived comfortable and she was able to use the homeowner insurance to rebuild a house. She had a good job now, but her organizational skills and bill paying are lacking in her personal life. Nick just happens to be a credit counselor, and he can see early on that Emily needs his help. The plot of the story kept me captivated and the pages turning. The dialog is witty and heartwarming. Nick and Emily agree to date, and for him to help her with a budget, bill paying and to enforce by agreement to keep her in line, and yes, that includes BB spankings. This story has many spankings, both with Nick and Emily, as well as, Nick’s sister, Anita and her husband Jeff. There are no sex scenes in this story, just domestic discipline. Best of all, it has an HEA ending.
I think this is one of my favorite books by this author! Nick and Emily's relationship was so sweet. Nick is a credit counselor and they meet when he is behind her line at the coffee shop when her credit card is declined, and he pays her bill for her. They meet again at a mutual friend's wedding, and spend the day together since they each had come alone. Emily works in advertising and is very creative and good at what she does, but can be very disorganized at home. Nick helps her through that, but a beautiful orange dress almost damages their relationship. Later, that dress will symbolize their love for each other.
I thought that this was a lovely story of Domestic Discipline. The characters were sweet and their story was full of love and romance! It tells of many moments in life where we all need to make decisions that are based on our love for each other rather than what we want so badly!! Loved it!

Nick helps Emily conquer her debt through spankings. Nick is deeply in love with Emily. Emily is also in love with Nick. There were no pre marital sexual scenes. The story was believable and sweet. The story is tied around an orange gown that brought they relationship closer together. There is a happy ending.
