Kim Petersons 4th book, That was Then, may not be a true story, but all of Kims words, actions, adventures, were real life situations. Some people don't want to look at the troubles in life, but what Melody Carson is saying is that we need to look at things for what they are. Some things cannot be avoided in life. But if we have a problem with dealing with things on our own, then we should take them to God.

This is Kim¿s senior year in high school and she wants it to go all good but come to find out it¿s not going to go as well as she wasn¿t it too. Her friend, Nat, is pregnant and Nat and Ben O¿Connor plan on getting married. They are both Christians so they believe that God wants them to get married. Kim ends up being Nat¿s ¿wedding planner¿ and by the time of the wedding Kim is fed up with all of Nat¿s complaining and pickiness. Only a couple of months after they got married, things were getting bad. Anytime that Kim would ask about her and Ben, she would always say that they were ¿just fine¿ but Kim knew that they weren¿t. Nat also really wants to keep the baby because she also thinks that it is right, but Kim thinks that she is too young too keep the baby and that she should put the baby up for adoption. Will she? You find out and read the book! Later on, Kim receives a letter from her birth mother from Korea in the mail. Will she connect back with her real mother, only a year after her adoptive mother died? I really like this book and I hope that you enjoy it too. I have most of Melody Carlson¿s books and I really enjoyed them. I really couldn¿t relate to this book but I know there are many people in this world that could relate to the book. Personally, there was no part in the book that is confused me so I hope it is not confusing to you! This book is part of a series so in order to understand this book you are going to have to read the first three books of the Kim series. There are also two other series that Melody Carlson has written and they are the Chloe Series and the Caitlin Series. I would suggest this book for teenage girls that like to ¿diaries¿ or like to read about drama and other people¿s lives. I think if you enjoy Melody Carlson¿s books that you will enjoy Meg Cabot¿s books too. I really enjoy Melody Carlson¿s books and I hope you do too!
