This daily reading plan provides a minute by minute break down of how to engage in 5 minutes of prayer each day. The first minute is scripture reading to inspire your prayer. Prayer prompts and questions are given for minutes 2 and 3. A “jump start prayer” is provided for minutes 4 and 5. In the book, this formula is given that is quite simple and can be expanded on easily. It allows you to get started but leaves you the opportunity to go beyond. The readings are short and sweet but introduce how to enjoy having a meaningful prayer life. I enjoyed the questions very much as they provoked me to think more on each passage of scripture read. I don’t enjoy reading the KJV but its not a deal breaker for me. If you are looking for something to change up your prayer life this is defiantly a book to check out. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion which I share here.
I love the idea of this book. I was looking for some guidance in my prayer life and hoped this might help me. This is a great resource for someone who is probably new in their faith. For me it lacked what I was looking for. I didn’t like that is used the KJV for scripture. I ended up looking the scriptures up in my own Bible because I just can’t connect with KJV. It is a quick little thing you can do each day, so if you are looking for something that is quick this might be what you are looking for. It just wasn’t for me. A copy of this book was given to me through Netgalley.com. All opinions are my own.
