I really enjoyed this book. Unlike some other diet books I have read, this one did not bore me with a bunch of theory, and why the diet works. Also it was not full of restrictions and can't haves, but instead turned out to be a great resource for cooking some wonderful meals! I would say this book is more of a great cookbook than a diet book! Delicious recipes that are healthy and low in fat...who could ask for more? I especially loved the Quick Miso Soup with Bok Choy and Shrimp. The Cranberry and Walnut pancakes are also a delicious treat!
I finally found a book with an easy to follow plan for fasting which includes 5 days of healthy eating and a simple 2 day fasting plan. The book’s plan on days that you are fasting only restricts you to 500 calorie/women – 600 calorie/men diet. I think this makes you more likely to choose meals that are filling and healthy on those days. The book even has simple and easy to make recipes to help on both fasting and non-fasting days. I think this it is a good fasting diet program for the beginner.
This book suggests a new approach to weight loss: 2 days of fasting (very restricted calories) out of every 7 days. It applies some of the principles of low-carb dieting, but in a way that is easier to do (especially if all-out low carb is a struggle for you.) It guides you through how to do 2 fast days in a month, and gives a lot of recipes for fasting days and non-fasting days.
It takes effort to eat healthier but the recipes and tips in this book make it so much easier. The recipes are pretty simple and use many of the same ingredients but are each different enough to offer a lot of variety in flavor and texture. The meal plans are so simple yet flexible they would be easy to follow indefinitely.
Wow! My taste buds are salivating just reading this book. Reading the E-Book version, I am enthralled with its ease of interpretation. The reason why a lot of diets fail is because of lack of taste bud thrills and sensations. If you make sure you know your food allergies, pounds will drop off your body and your taste buds will now even know it. If you have fast food company stocks, you are going to hate this book.
