About the Author

Charles Wadsworth Camp (1878-1936) was a reclusive American writer who served as a war correspondent during World War I, when he was evidently exposed to mustard gas. Camp was the father of noted young adult fiction author Madeleine L'Engle. Camp published six mysteries during his lifetime, including the well-regard locked-room mystery THE ABANDONED ROOM.
