A lovely modern-day fairytale romance “The Accidental Wedding” by Debra Elizabeth is the first book in the ‘Loving a Billionaire’ series and features marketing specialist Keira Callahan, who is at a low point and trying to cheer herself up on the Las Vegas Strip when she has a fortuitous encounter with Cade Tyndale who is facing his own life-changing challenge. They take a chance on each other, which results in Keira travelling to England and experiencing a life far different from the one she’s used to. Dealing with hostile relatives, coping with the responsibilities of being an earl’s wife, and discovering whether her relationship with her husband can be more than an arrangement on paper will definitely take all of Keira’s determination and require that she and Cade learn how to trust one another. This contemporary romance has fairy-tale elements and is a great way to armchair travel. It was particularly intriguing for me to read as I had just experienced the wonders the Bellagio has to offer and enjoyed the spot-on descriptions! I was a little skeptical of the trust that is automatically conferred…her to travel to another country with a virtual stranger and him to believe that she was not a gold digger…but the author did a great job of penning personable characters and making me root for their success. I thought the dynamics with Cade’s brother were a little odd, particularly his semi-conversion which seemed out of character with his previous behavior and it seemed to me that money is thrown around an awful lot by Cade which conflicts with the constant search to make more. Despite all this, I enjoyed the vivid imagery and the intensifying relationship between the main characters and the over-the-top lifestyle described. This was one of those uplifting sigh-worthy stories that put a smile on my face and reminded me why I enjoy romances so much and I look forward to reading more delightful stories by this author. Keira Callahan is a kind, hard working marketing specialist that finds herself in a difficult position at the beginning of the story. She recently lost her job and doesn’t know what to do, she decides to put everything away in storage… without a job and a home, she decides to go to Vegas to visit her sister’s family and see what her luck brings her. She believes that some downtime might help her figure out what she wants to do next in her life. Cade Tyndale is the handsome and sexy fourteenth Earl of Barrett, who also has a difficult situation in his hands. He ran out of time to marry and become heir of his father’s title. There’s a lot at stake if he doesn’t fulfill the position that is rightfully his, since his brother doesn’t care much about the people that depend of it. Sadden by the reality that he soon would face, he decides to spend some time in Las Vegas. Keira and Cade soon meet, their attraction is immediate the moment they see each other. It doesn’t take much time for them to want to get to know each other better, and when they do, the accidental wedding happens. It wasn’t a surprise when they ended up marrying and making a deal that will benefit both of them, with the idea of eventually going their separate ways. What seemed like a reasonable idea for both of them, turns complicated when they realized that the attraction they feel is more than they originally anticipated, making their dynamic fun and interesting. It wasn’t at all part of the plan. I loved that from the beginning Keira really meant to help Cade out. She wasn’t interested in the title and money he offered her in exchange of their wedding transaction. Cade saw her as a beautiful human being, and that’s why he accepted the idea as a business proposition and treated is as such thinking it was best for them both. Keira’s welcome to England wasn’t as merry as she hoped for. She’d always had dreamed about visiting the country and spending some time there, but there was a lot she didn't understand about her new title as Lady Barrett and the obligations that she now had. Cade was happy he could keep his father’s state and help the community that depended of it, even if his happiness was placed last in his priority list. Keira and Cade made a wonderful team and soon Keira found a way to use her expertise to improve Cade’s business and make it more profitable. This book is a great sweet contemporary romance that will have you reading page after page until you finish it. They way Keira and Cade’s relationship develops is interesting and has you want to give them both a slap in the back of the head for being so slow at accepting the love they feel for each other, after all… they’re already husband and wife. If you like wedding romances this is a book you’ll love.
Okay this book pretty much sums up my dream fairy tale life lol! As a girl from Vegas I totally loved that this book took place there! Even better in the Bellagio Casino – where I often stay when I go back and visit. So yes, this scenario could totally happen to me lol! This book is about Keira, an unemployed, former marketing specialist, who is a bit unsure what direction her life is going in. So, to try and figure things out she moves out of her apartment, puts her stuff in storage, and goes down to Las Vegas to spend some time with her sister’s family. Deciding to go out on the town one night and blow off some steam she ends up at the Bellagio Casino on the Strip. This book is about Cade, a sexy, GQ, Brit, from England, who is battling his own life issues. Deciding to also get away to sort things out he ends up in Sin City as well. Cade, the Earl of Barrett, inherited his title and family estate upon his father’s death. Unfortunately, his father placed strict stipulations that if Cade was not married for at least one year before turning thirty he would forfeit his claim on the estate and it would transfer to Cade’s younger brother, Edward. Upon arriving in Vegas, Cade’s twenty-ninth birthday was only five days away. Cade was just about to run out of time before opportunity literally ran right into him! That’s right! Keira had just won big at the slot machines and was so excited she wasn’t paying attention and bumped into Cade on the casino floor. These two felt an instant spark and Cade asked her to dinner. Over dinner they both opened up about the problems they faced and the difficult choices they weren’t sure how they were going to handle. Although, Keira had just met Cade she offered to marry him as it would solve both of their problems – she needed a place to live and had always wanted to visit England; and he needed a wife. Cade was smitten with her and Keira found him quite handsome and charming. Plus, they both knew they needed each other so they agreed to marry for one year and one day. But what started out as a business arrangement, starts to get blurry when the more time they spend together the more they grow fonder of each other. It isn’t long before feelings are developed and emotions are on the line. But will they admit that to each other? Or will they stick to their agreement of keeping it professional? Then add in family drama, a brother trying to break up the marriage to win over the estate, a culture adjustment and being thousands of miles away from family and friends – things definitely complicated – and well entertaining! I loved the characters! Keira and Cade were likable, honest, and genuine. They were very well developed! Cade was a true gentleman and Keira was a lady. I loved their chemistry! Also, the way the fought for each other, helped each other, supported each other, and pushed each other to succeed. This book was beautifully written with fantastic details, and wonderful characters! Also, I totally loved the storyline! Very creative, but still realistic! And I'm totally gonna be booking another trip to the Bellagio soon lol! This book is fast paced and keeps you fully engaged and entertained through the last page! I gave this book a strong five-star rating and I probably would have given it more if I could have! I would absolutely recommend this book to all romance readers! This is a wonderful take on a modern-day fairy tale!
