Overview

The Adventures of Courtney the Hedgehog by Paul C Greenhalgh

From a wonderful new talent in children's illustrated books comes a fantasy for kids that harks back to those timeless animal stories, 'The Animals of Farthing Wood' and 'The Wind in the Willows', where adventure and fantasy play a part in helping others and making friends.

Courtney the Hedgehog is devastated when his house is destroyed by people, but instead of moping around feeling sorry for himself, he sets off on an animal adventure that will take him through the Wood and across the river to his cousin's house in Middleland. Along the way he meets many other animals, making friends with Humphrey, an industrious Mole who agrees to accompany Courtney on his journey. He also meets Hammy the Squirrel and Barnaby, the Water Rat captain of a river boat, who has many fun animal stories to tell. As he gets nearer his destination, Courtney finds that helping others can often get you closer to your own goals. But what of the people who destroyed his home? Will they return to cut short his animal adventure? And what can one mere Hedgehog do to stop them if they do?

About the Author

I am a retired business man who has a love for stories and have been writing essentially children stories since my son was born some 34 years ago. I have now finally published the first book in a series about Courtney the Hedgehog and his adventures. For those of you who have read Wind in the Willows or the Animals of Farthing Wood you spot where she of my inspiration came from. I love story telling and hope you like my first book, hopefully soon to be followed by its sequel maybe in 2016. I have a website under construction, www.paulgreenhalgh.com and am on Facebook under Paul C Greenhalgh Books. You can see my work and look inside for a taster both as a paperback book on Amazon.co.uk and on Kindle Books.
