Largo is feeling sad. He is a turtle and being slow can really be a pain! Today he just wants to keep playing with his friends but he can't because it will make him late for dinner. Why does he have to be a turtle? Largo's friend, Shelby, helps Largo see he is special because of who he is. With help from his friends, Largo begins to see he has a special turtle purpose. And so do you.

Are you slow? Or short? Or something different from your friends? Largo knows how you feel. It can be hard when you think you aren't like everyone else. But guess what? Everyone feels like that. That's right! We are all made very different. But each one of us has a special purpose. And the thing that makes you different is what makes you special. You need that special something to figure out that purpose.

How cool is that?

About the Author

Joanne Randall has been creating characters and stories with her children for almost 20 years. Largo came to be one night as she was putting her son to bed and he asked to hear a story instead of read a book. And Largo was born! Joanne Randall has owned two marketing firms, hosted a radio show, and taught marketing and business workshops to hundreds of business owners. She has guest lectured at many colleges and universities and has been featured in magazine articles and interviews throughout her home state of New Hampshire.

Jason D. McIntosh has been illustrating since he was old enough to hold crayons. In addition to drawing comics, inventing creatures, and exploring the fantastic realms of imagination through art, he is also an author and graphic designer. His works have been produced in works by Thomson Delmar Learning, Dog Ear Publishing, Xulon Press, Westbow Press and various Amazon publications. Each day, his five children and supportive wife in New Hampshire enhance his love for storytelling and children's adventure.
