Book 1: I gotta say this is the best older woman, younger man tropes I have read to date. The author did a brilliant job of making this 19 year old come off as one of the most confident and dominant heroes and yet stay true to his age. Brian's story is believable. The way he is an old soul due to how young he was when he had to become the man of the house. I'm very intrigued by him and I'm on pins and needles waiting to see what is going to happen in book 2. I'm not sure how I feel about Jane yet. I like her. She honorable and honest but maybe too much. I want her to assert herself to a few of the side characters. She is almost too innocent in the midst of many sharks in her life but that is also why I'm loving Brian so much. The way he takes care of her is very appealing. There are so many outcomes I can see for the next book. I really don't know what to expect and that's a big reason why I am so enthralled with this story. I'm so happy book 2 is being published not long after this book. Book 2: One thing I learned from this book is that apparently I am bloodthirsty and that Jane is a better woman than I am. I knew Jane and Brian's journey was not going to be easy but I had no clue the amount of pain Jane would suffer for her chance at happiness. How much can one woman take until she breaks? That's still the question because Jane proved to be much stronger than I gave her credit for in the first book. She is one of the most honest, giving heroines I have ever read. She truly only wanted what was best for others and never complained for herself, and it killed me at times. Through it all, Brian proved that age is just a number. I loved how fiercely he loved her. How hard he fought for her. He's the kind of hero I love to read about. For being as young as he was, he knew what he wanted and he jumped every hurdle in his way. I loved how much of a better man he was compared to the more "mature" side characters in this book. This is a couple that deserves to make it work. Despite my bloodthirsty nature not being satisfied, I can appreciate the way the author kept Jane true to character. This was brilliantly written but I am not surprised since I have experienced this author before. I highly recommend The Age Between Us Duet.

Old Enough Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. She's older than he is, but Brian doesn't care. Meeting Jane was the best thing that every happened to him, even it was supposed to be a set up and a quick way to earn some much needed cash. I knew this book was first person, present tense going in and I *thought* it would help me, but **insert wailing** it didn't! Oh! Don't get me wrong! It's a bloody good book, a GREAT book! Brian meeting Jane and everything that happens after is well told from both their points of view. The plot moves along at an even pace. Not everything is revealed at once, it comes along in dribs and drabs, to enable you to process that little tit-bit, before the next one comes and grabs you. Brian makes no apologies for who he is, or where he came from, or how he got there. Once his mind was made up that he wants Jane, and not just as a quick f**k, he goes all out to get here. Jane too, once she begins to let Brian in, she goes all out and takes what he gives her. It has planted itself firmly on the "fan yourself, its a hot one" shelf! Brian is young and he wants Jane in every which way he can. And he does! But the best bit, for me, was when Brian decides to make love to Jane, rather than just bang her up against the wall. That surprised him, I think, the connection he could get from Jane doing that. Loved that! The cliff hanger I was expecting doesn't happen here, although there is a cliff hanger ending. But what THAT means is, what I expected to happen here, will come in book two! I will read it, because I want to know how this is all going to go down! I just **insert sigh** can't get past the present tense thing! It pains me, deeply! Because I LOVE Ms Pauls work! 4 stars Young Enough Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. This is book two in The Age Between Us set, and you MUST read book one, Old Enough, before you read this one, it is not a stand alone. I'm not gonna write a blurby bit, cos I might give something away! When it all starts to unravel for Jane, and indeed for Brian, together, and separately, its like a ball rolling down a hill. As it moves, it gets faster and faster, and for Jane and Brian, things move at great speed, one thing after another after another, til the only way is for them both to walk away. When reading this unraveling, its like Oh My God. Then its, No Freaking WAY! And SAY WHAT NOW!!! Because Pauls chucks so many, so bloody MANY things at this couple, and at us, it's a wonder they are still standing. So many twists and turns, so much that came totally out of left field, that I was totally blown away with the plot twists! I've filed it on the darker/grittier shelf, because some of the things that are thrown at Brian and Jane need that tag. But if I tell you what they are, that would give plot lines away, so if anyone wants to know, please feel free to message me, and I will tell you, but I'm not doing that here. BUT!!! It's again, first person present tense, from both Jane and Brian's point of view. And as much as I loved this book, more so than the first, I still can't get past that. And for that I'm sorry! Its very well written, though and you really do feel for both Brian and Jane when things start to go wrong. Strangely, I felt more for Brian than I did for Jane. Well I did, up to a point, and after that point?? It was Jane I felt more for! So, even though I enjoyed this one more

This set is packed full of emotion... I read these books separately, but am so happy to see them in a set together! A deep and intense tale! Pulls you in... their story is built so well you feel it is real! I literally did not move the whole time I was reading! Such pain, feelings of betrayal... truths being revealed... enjoyed Brian and Jane's journey and I was floored by all that happens! I loved reading it and found it memorable!

If you love forbidden romances, or are just a fan of a well written, complex, deeply engaging and stunningly emotional reads, you need these books NOW! This is the perfect way to obtain both books in this duet at once. In it's most basic form, this is about Jane and Brian and it is an older woman/younger man, forbidden romance. This book and series is well written, offers a strong, compelling storyline and complex characters. Filled with deep, layered and complicated emotions that will completely engage both your heart and mind, have you totally submerged in this world and totally invested in this couple. My heart broke so many times during this book. Even knowing or guessing at some of the many secrets or potential disasters that were circling around these lovers, will not prepare readers for everything that happens in this book. Trust me, you will be left stunned, blindsided, gutted and broken. So please, prepare yourself for an emotional tornado the likes of which I have never before experienced in a book. Even days after finishing this book, my heart still hurts and my thoughts spin as I think of what occurred during the course of this romance. I loved Jane and Brian so much! Their romance is beautiful and profound. It will make you swoon, smile and melt. It will make you cry, yell at the fates and curse the harsh and judgmental world we live in. It will showcase the lengths we can go for love and the high price we often pay for doing so. I do not want to give any spoilers because this book and series deserves to take center stage and the chance to dazzle each and every reader with it's brilliance. And dazzle it will, with its hot, sizzling steam, jaw dropping secrets, spectacular twists, shocking revelations and the devastating consequences of it all. Do yourself a favor and buy these books! They earn each and every one of the five stars I gave them and I wish I could give them more because they are just that good!
