I found the book extremely engaging, balancing between ancient East African mythology and hip-hop culture, drawing parallels in the life of all people and the decisions we make--and have to live with. As a student of Kemet (Ancient Egypt), Minister Faust did a great job of bringing those ideas to modern-day application. The characters were believable, and some were pitiful--but they had their lessons to learn. I learned with them.

If I could give this zero stars, I would. I appreciated the hip-hop pop culture references [sometimes] but I hated this book for its bad dialogue, over-simplistic narrative, storytelling and vision/analysis of the world. It bugged me that the characters in the past spoke like and used similar references as the characters did in "present day". The lack of any change in the characters from past to present undermined the credibility of the story. My one words review: BOO!!!
