The Algae Voices of Azule is a story that chronicles a day in the life of a set of twins, Billy and Ali, both ten years old. They have psychic powers, which is not something out of the ordinary on their planet, Azule. In fact, many people are psychic on Azule, most hiding their abilities from the dictatorship that rules this planet. Billy and Ali, however, will be forced to decide if they should use their psychic powers, their Gifts, to save someone from a fate worse than death, a choice that may damn them to the same fate, or worse. They'll be hunted by the dreaded Inquisitors, chased through the waterfront and docks of Azule City, and forced to hide for their lives, and that's when the story starts to get interesting. They'll learn about the consequences of choice and how cold and terrifying sacrifice can be. You won't be disappointed.

About the Author
When I moved out of public education, I went from the well-established and stable environment of the public school system to a high technology startup; fiber optics. I started doing research on fiber optic components, developing mathematical models for component performance as well as developing new manufacturing strategies to develop new classes of components. This was a really exciting time in my life because I would see an idea I had for a new component go from mathematical modeling on a Monday, to prototype fabrication on Tuesday-Wednesday, to prototype testing on Thursday, to data sheets sent to potential customers on a Friday. Wow. Things really moved fast in a start-up company. I was faced with the opportunity to putting my physics knowledge to work on new ideas and new products; to say the least, it was really an exciting time. Unfortunately, the fiber optics market crashed when the dot-com market boom failed to materialize, and the company went under.
After the demise of the fiber optics company, I was fortunate to have a fortune 500 company’s industrial research institution just down the street from where I lived. At this R&D company, I conducted research on machine vision, automated defect detection systems, holography, robotics, manufacturing systems, laser systems, and numerous small research projects that ranged from plastics manufacturing to health care components. I have the privilege of conducting research with some of the brightest and most creative scientists in the country, if not the world. I’m currently still working at this R&D company and am involved in research around the controlled melting

I was hooked from the very beginning. This book is great for readers of all ages and I would highly recommend it to anyone! Much like The Hunger Games, this series of books is about a world much different that we are used to. I got attached to the main characters and was continually eager to learn what happened next. As the plot unfolds, readers are constantly kept on the edge of their seats as the twins encounter many obstacles that make them fear for their lives. I could not put the books down and cannot wait to read Mark Cheverton's other books.
