Before The World Ends.

In 2104, the Vatican declared war on the anti-Christ. The first nuclear strike was launched by Israel. Few survived. Nobody won.*

After ten years in the wilderness, a new society emerged, one with superior intellect, their destiny shaped by two discoveries:

  • The "immortality" pill allowing people to live free of disease for centuries
  • The "surfboard" interstellar travel engine

But Earth's future remains at risk. The prophecy is proven. It will come true.

For humanity to have any chance of survival, the Alien Corps must find the Lords of Light before the final days.

Hickory Lace and her team are sent to investigate a miracle worker on the planet Prosperine. Could he be the one they have been searching for?

The Alien Corps-an action-packed adventure on a strange and hostile world. The future of Earth and its allies is on the line, and Hickory has one chance to prevent a catastrophe. She must rediscover the empathic powers she was born with, and at the same time, determine exactly who the miracle worker is and what he represents.

What readers are saying about this fantastic space adventure.

"Creative imagination at its best. Interesting characters, lots of action, a light sprinkling of mysterious super powers, creatures of unbelievable evil, and an interesting balance between war and it's cruelties and love for all beings."

"A Great read. Had me at the first chapter. Did not want to stop. Love the plot, the storyline, the action!!"

"Great characters; storyline with action, drama, and fast-paced intrigue; and unique description of an alien planet, society and its population. Highly recommended. I would get other books in the series."

"McDermott creates a very original and hopeful future world similar to the kind of sci fi I grew up loving. His alien characters are delightful and believable. I could not wait to read the second book, Rise of the Erlachi which is even better!"

"This is a full-blown outer space adventure. Well described characters and a story that has a nice flow to it. I read it straight thru cover to cover."

About the Author

PJ McDermott was born in Scotland and spent his youth in the town of Paisley, near Glasgow. As a boy he would "plunk" school and head to the local library to read any Science Fiction books he could lay his hands on. His favorite authors were Asimov, Herbert, Niven, Moorcock, and Le Guin. Probably the book he most enjoyed, though, was "Lord of the Rings" by Tolkien. "It was the grandest of adventures, exotic locations and magical characters that drew me in. Seriously, I read it at least six times!"

These days, when he has time to relax (which isn't often,) he enjoys the fantasy novels of Robin Hobb, George Martin and the modern SF writers, Vaughn Heppner and Alex Weir.

The author has published the 4-book science fiction adventure series Prosperine which includes The Alien Corps, Rise of the Erlachi, The Scarf, and Fractured Prophecy. All are available as e-books or in print, and The Alien Corps is also available as an audio book.

The prelude to the series, Born of Fire, tells of the apocalyptic events 84 years before The Alien Corps, and is available in audio, eBook and Print.

The highly acclaimed semi-biographical novel, Small Fish Big Fish, was PJ's first novel.

The author now lives the good life in Australia with his wife, Sue, two daughters and grandchildren, Mia, Ryder Patrick, and Ethan.
