About the Author

Roberta M Roy is the creative lead and owner operator of ALVA Press Inc at alvapressinc.com. Roy’s publishing house was incorporated in 2004. In 2014 ALVA lists some fifteen eBook/book titles among which two are internationally recognized medalists: Roy’s sci-fi romance and adventure story, Jolt: a rural noir, and Kristen Henderson’s book of deeply moving poetry, Drum Machine. ALVA believes that as a publisher one must Cherish the writer . . . Delight the reader, an approach which has served well to encourage both authors and readers to return to ALVA for editing and publishing services as well as good reads.

Roy resides in the Mid-Hudson Valley in New York State. She holds a B.A. in English from the State University College at Albany (SUNYA), an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska, a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language Association (ASHA), and a license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of New York.

Roy’s book Jolt: a rural noir earned a bronze medal in the 2011 Jenkins Living Now Awards Competition in Inspirational Fiction. Roy’s 2014 releases include a collection of her essays on a variety of timely topics, Straight from the Robin’s Nest, as well as a collection of interviews she has had with writers discussing their creative roles in publishing and the media. It is called The ALVA Axiom Anthology of Author Interviews.
