About the Author

Samantha Price is a best selling author who knew she wanted to become a writer at the age of seven, while her grandmother read to her Peter Rabbit in the sun room. Though the adventures of Peter and his sisters Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail started Samantha on her creative journey, it is now her love of Amish culture that inspires her to write. Her writing is clean and wholesome, with more than a dash of sweetness. Though she has penned over eighty Amish Romance and Amish Mystery books, Samantha is just as in love today with exploring the spiritual and emotional journeys of her characters as she was the day she first put pen to paper. Samantha lives in a quaint Victorian cottage with three rambunctious dogs.

****I was pleasantly surprised at how good this story was! I normally dislike short stories as they usually lack substance. This 90 page short story was very good. I didn't guess who was the murderer, but the story held true. I look forward to reading more from this author! **** **** esk 08/2017 ****

I thought it was a good read, very suspenseful. The ending was a little sad. Some of the characters were funny which I enjoy in a book.

Emma Kurtsler is a widow! Her husband, Levi has just been buried and Emma and Levi's best friend Wil are on their way back from the cemetery. A gentleman approaches Emma to see if she would want to sell her farm and land. She is very upset about it and Wil tells him to get lost and leave her alone! In the meantime she is visited by Levi's boss who wants to tell her he put in a claim for insurance for her husband's death! She gets into some trouble with the Real Estate guy and she gets mixed up in a murder! In order to clear herself, she makes friends with three Widows who call themselves The Widow's Mystery society, to help her and be able to clear her name! The book was a good one and the author captured the Amish society to a tea! Very well written and I have the next one ready to read!

Not your typical Amish book. If their Bishop had heard of half of what the widows did, they would have been shunned for a period of time, until they made a public confession.

Perhaps more suited for young adults or preteens. Good story line. Not much emotion.

Actual story is only about 80 pages. Plot was a bit jumpy but with a slight twist ending. Not bad for a short story but I don't think I'll buy more from this author.

Easy to read mystery with an Amish background. Keeps one's interest until the end. Does not reveal secret until the appropriate time. Interesting character subplot within the story.
