About the Author
I can point north, no matter where I am. Growing up on endless high plains vistas overlaid with right-angled gravel roads taught me that. My home is in Austin now, but I didn't come here straight away. I chased jobs through several gritty cities first.
When I was a teenager I ground gears in fuming semi trucks that strained under the loads of bulldozers and backhoes. I operated those machines, too. Most of the time I even kept them upright. Later, between the time I quit college and then finished, I climbed splintery telephone poles in the fresh air. Sometimes sideways snow or stinging hornets freshened the air too much.
For a few years, I put on a shirt and tie and managed a big team of telecommunications technicians and managers. We tore through mountains of trouble tickets and restored crashed networks.
When I landed in Texas, most everybody told me they "weren't unhappy." Progress...
Everything runs its course, and now I am a happy writer. My novel, Church of the God Particle, is forthcoming. Meanwhile, here are a couple of short stories so you can gauge my style.
