Description of the Winter 2019 Issue

"We've got a God who has something to say to us!" These words from Presiding Bishop Michael Bruce Curry form the theme of this special issue of the Anglican Theological Review, Preaching in the Episcopal Tradition. Cosponsored by the Episcopal Preaching Foundation, and including a foreword by Bishop Curry and a preface by EPF board chair Gary Shilling, this compilation is intended to be accessible and practical for academics and nonacademics alike. It features three academic articles, four Practicing Theology pieces, and an introduction to preaching in the twenty-first century, followed by three sermons with commentary selected by the EPF leadership. Preaching-themed review articles, reflections, and book reviews follow, along with the usual impressive array of general book reviews and a half-dozen poems. Contributors were intentionally sought out because of their expertise and experience in the areas covered in the issue.
