This is a surprisingly good thriller from start to finish. The basic premise is frighteningly realistic, and provides a chilling background to the story of an ordinary man caught up in extraordinary problems. The writing matches anything from the masters. The characters involved are all real people with all the faults that people have. For the most part, everyone is a bad guy from some point of view. The novel's strength is in tracking the changes in relationships

Reviewed by Roy T. James for Readers' Favorite The Angola Deception by DC Alden has Roy Sullivan, an officer working in the immigration department with an estranged wife, in search of his brother, whose last posting was in Iraq. Sammy, who is known to him since his younger days, approaches him for some help with his criminal deals. Roy is forced to extend help and take part in many shady activities, and finds himself compromising his and his son’s safety when he starts exploiting his links at Heathrow. Frank confronts Roy with a claim that he knows the circumstances of James Sullivan’s disappearance, as well as the existence of a highly classified biological project of Angola virus, and Roy in turn accepts his help. More diabolic and dangerous incidents follow, posing grave threats to society at large and beyond Roy’s control. The Angola Deception by DC Alden has a good, slick plot and an interesting set of characters. The events and scenes constituting the different facets of the narrative are also conceived well, each of them contributing to and retaining the thrill. However, I observed that Roy’s pal Sammy has some sort of a hold over Roy, without giving a reason or a background of obligation. This is a well written book; a looming air of thrill is maintained in the incidents of altercation that occur with his son, wife, wife’s lover, as well as the villainous characters, Frank and Sammy. It has good narration as its high point.

Reviewed by Faridah Nassozi for Readers' Favorite In The Angola Deception by DC Alden, former black ops commander Frank Marshall is a man in a desperate search for redemption. As senior member of the team, Frank had played a pivotal role in the activities of a ruthless secret organisation with a mighty plan for humanity, until guilt caught up with him, leading him to defect and disappear off the face of the Earth. When God sent him a sign, Frank did not hesitate. Suddenly he was back on the grid with a sole mission of tracking down a stranger he had only seen on TV. Filled with remorse for his past deeds, Frank hoped that by giving closure to a stranger desperately seeking answers to his brother's disappearance, he too would finally find some redemption. Frank's sudden reappearance presented a huge threat to his former employers - a secret organisation with global reach and immense power. News of his reappearance would undermine authority and send the wrong message that one could go rogue and get away with it. More importantly, Frank knew too much and could hurt their carefully crafted plans for global domination. There was only one solution, so a group of highly trained mercenaries was put together to hunt him down. However, as a former senior member of the same organisation, Frank was skilled beyond most and he would not be an easy target. The Angola Deception by DC Alden is the thrilling tale of a man on a quest for redemption and closure. The Angola Deception is without a doubt one of the best and most memorable conspiracy theories that I have read. The story puts a unique and fresh spin on the theories behind the 9/11 attacks and beyond. This is a theory unlike any in the past and DC Alden delivered it so incredibly well and made it feel authentic. The story development was simply genius, with pieces of the plot revealed just at the right moments as the plot unfolded to reveal one of the best conspiracy theories you will ever come across. It is a fast-paced captivating read guaranteed to give you a most thrilling reading experience.

Reviewed by Paul Johnson for Readers' Favorite Roy Sullivan is a loser. At least that’s what he feels about himself. Currently working in a dead end job at London’s busiest airport, still haunted by the disappearance of his brother in Iraq, and separated from his family, he has no prospects of things getting better any time soon. But, can things get any worse? Sammy French, a violent south London criminal and former childhood associate, is in need of a favour, an offer that Roy can’t refuse. Forced to take part in a perilous criminal conspiracy, Roy must exploit his position at Heathrow so he can grant that favour and hopefully be free of Sammy’s debt and live his life again. Across the ocean, former Navy Seal Frank Marshall knows the truth, a truth that has haunted him for a long time. Frank is now hunted by powerful forces determined to silence him, a man who holds the key to the mystery of Jimmy Sullivan’s disappearance. Frank is determined; Roy needs to know the truth about his brother’s disappearance. But there is more. A terrifying plan is about to come to pass, one that threatens to decimate humanity and usher in a ruthless and terrifying New World Order. The Angola Deception is an exceptionally written story of intrigue and suspense. The story revolves around two flawed men, each looking for some type of salvation. The reader will quickly be swept up in the story, eagerly looking to each turning page to follow the lives of Roy and Frank. The characterization was superbly crafted, the plot creative and well put together. And the surprise ending sets the stage for more suspense and intrigue from this gifted author. Can it get any better?
