Thoroughly engrossing historic mystery, imbued with a sense of the mystical, and set in the political malestrom of LA and Palm Springs to boot. This mystery has it all. Very satisfying. Can't wait to see it on the silver screen--Mel Gibson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and especially Ben Kingsley, who must play Jakar Makeda. Can't wait for the next Feynes' book.

The Anointing is an excellent work, one of the best of this genre I have read. It contains a high element of suspense to keep the reader moving hungrily through the pages, waiting for the next curve in the road. It is intense and well-written, featuring an interesting cast of characters and a story line that makes one think. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a novel to fall deep within and searching for a story that will hold your interest from front to back.

The Anointing by John Fenyes and David Fenyes is a great read. It mixes history, political intrigue and theological speculation with an old fashioned who done it. The story revolves around a theft from the basement of the Vatican. The content of the stolen treasure is a key to the mystery. Suspense in the tradition of the Sixth Sense. Highly recommended.
