About the Author

Steven DeMarco grew up in Evanston, Illinois, where his fascination with art began at age six. Captivated by Gothic romance covers and vintage monster magazines, he developed a passion for dramatic imagery and color. Encouraged by early mentors, Steven pursued formal training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, earning a Commercial Art and Illustration degree. After several years in advertising, he shifted focus to personal creative work, illustrating comics, magazines, and books across diverse genres, including horror, fantasy, and paleontology. His cover art has appeared in “Splatter Magazine,” “Slash Magazine,” TSR’s Amazing Stories, and the acclaimed book “Bigfoot: Encounters Past and Present.” Now in his sixties, Steven continues to paint with the same dedication he showed as a young artist, striving to be recognized as a versatile illustrator who brings imagination to life across every canvas he touches.
