More PG-RATED FUN by USA Today and Amazon bestselling author Heather Horrocks...

Amber has been in love with Samuel for three years and she's determined to find out if what she feels is real or not -- and, if it is, to win him over. Samuel's just come back from a tour of duty in Afghanistan when his buddy's cute little sister shows up. Too bad his guilt won't allow him to let her into his heart, because if she ever learned what he'd done, she wouldn't give him the time of day. Will a puppy, parents who want to keep them apart, and a town filled with monsters scare off their romance?

About the Author

About the Author

Heather Horrocks is the USA Today and Amazon bestselling author of numerous books (Moonchuckle Bay paranormal romances, Chick Flick Clique and Christmas Street romantic comedies, Who-Dun-Him Inn and Bad Mothers Club cozy mysteries, a novel in the unprecedented American Mail-Order Bride series, and the Women Who Knew inspirational books) plus an upcoming series for writers, sharing her unique character interview and amazing book-in-a-day system developed by plotting over seventy-five books with Diane Darcy, each in one day, with her Conspiracy Group (two or more people plotting together—some with Kristin Holt, others with Bruce Simpson, and others all by themselves). She is also the founder of Word Garden Press, a niche publisher of PG-rated fiction and non-fiction.

Raised overseas for her first seventeen years, she hid under the bed with her mother during a South American coup, waterskied through an oil slick in the Persian Gulf, partied with a Kuwaiti princess classmate, flew in and out of the blacked-out Cairo airport mere moments before it was bombed during the Six Day War, rode a camel (and ate a camel steak), crossed the finish line first at Utah's Miller Motorsports Park—and walked on hot coals—without getting burned!—at a firewalk workshop!

She loves anyone who can make her laugh, which explains why she adores her witty husband, her clever children, her funny friends and sisters, Anne George mysteries, and her cute little dog Gus. She loves to cook for friends, siblings, and especially her children and their families. She and her husband reside in Utah. You can find her online at

This was a cute, fun, light-hearted book. I enjoyed the story, the characters, the writing and the town. Moonchuckle Bay is “The Monster Movie Capital of the World.” And the vampires, werewolves, witches and other monsters walking the streets? Well, there are no special effects here as the tourists may think. Those are real monsters! It is a charming town, and I love the names of the stores and the streets. I’m excited to visit again! I really enjoyed the book, and can tell this is going to be a fun series to read!

This is the first book in a new series by Heather Horrocks which takes place in Moonchuckle Bay, The Monster Capital of the World. It's a sweet romance with a little of the paranormal (werewolves, vampires, trolls, etc) thrown in. Amber is in Moonchuckle Bay to find Samuel, who served in Afghanistan with her recently deceased older brother, Adam. She's there to deliver a sealed letter from her brother to Samuel, and hide out from a stalker. Samuel is the police chief of Moonchuckle Bay and wrote to Amber until Adam was killed, then he stopped writing to her because of Adam's death. Throw in an adorable stray puppy and Sam's meddling parents who are trying to plan his wedding to a girl he doesn't want to marry and you've got a recipe for a fun, light read. I enjoyed this clean romance (just a few kisses). It's lighthearted and because it's part of a series the characters will be in some of the other books.
