About the Author

Jeffrey L. Buller holds a doctorate in classics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the author of more than twenty books on academic leadership, a monograph on Wagnerian opera, a textbook for first-year college students, several novels, and more than 200 articles, essays, and reviews. In addition to conducting leadership-training workshops all over the world, he serves as a consultant to the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia in its development of a region-wide Academic Leadership Center.

Robert E. Cipriano is former chair and professor emeritus of the department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at Southern Connecticut State University. He has a doctorate in Therapeutic Recreation, with an Area of Concentration in College Teaching. He is the author of five books, one on collegiality in higher education, one on the Special Olympics, and three books on academic leadership in higher education. He has written chapters in three additional textbooks, and has published more than 180 journal articles and manuscripts. He has been awarded more than $9 million in grants and contracts and delivered.
