Avengers: Mythos by Paul Jenkins, Paolo Rivera, Stephanie Hans, Dalibor Talajic

The origins of Earth's Mightiest heroes collected! Marvel has produced some of the most mythic heroes of our time. Much like the pantheon of the gods cast a spell over the Greeks, the stories of the Marvel heroes and their populist underpinnings have become legend in the hearts and minds of generations of fans. But behind the adventure, action and pathos, who are these heroes? Why do they exist? And how did they come to be? These stories all capture the essence of Marvel's most heroic and iconic characters. AVENGERS: MYTHOS captures the essence of Marvel's most high-profile and iconic characters: Hulk, Captain America, Ant-Man & the Wasp, Luke Cage, Quicksilver & the Scarlet Witch, Vision and Thor.

This is a collection of quite a few different takes on some classic Avengers' origins. A myriad of different writers and artists are involved but it makes for a disjointed collection. Overall, the book is decent as there are some high points, but there are some low points as well. The two standouts to me were the Ant-Man & Wasp Origins tale and the Vision story. Both chapters were so good because they involved takes on the characters/origins that were a new twist on what we've seen before. The painted chapters involving Cap and Hulk were very good as well. The others however were big letdowns. All were just rehashing what we've seen before. I liked the collections for the most part and would recommend it to Marvel zombies.
