The Bastard's Key: The Golden Scepter by Brent Archer

Heath goes on a blind date set up by busy-body co-worker Violet Tryon. Sexy and mysterious, Anton Barrett captivates Heath and asks him out for a second date. But things quickly go awry when a boulder crashes their picnic, and Heath's apartment building blows up.

Now homeless, Heath turns to Anton for help, and finds himself in the middle of a family vendetta against his branch of the Hapsburg royalty.

Pursued by a man in a black trench coat, Heath, Anton, and Violet race from Paris to the Orient Express, Austria, and Switzerland in a scramble against time to find the treasure and save Heath's life.

About the Author

Brent Archer was born in Spokane, Washington, and began writing in high school as a hobby. Though writing over the years as he pursued first an acting career and then the accounting profession, he didn't seriously consider himself an author. In 2012, he took the leap to change his career and try channeling his creativity into storytelling, leaving his high stress Controller job in the non-profit arts industry. After selling his first short story to Ravenous Romance in 2012, he was hooked!

He has several short stories coming out with Cleis Press in 2015, and Halfway Out of the Dark and The Christmas Proposal with MuseItHOT published in late 2014, as well as Aboard the Aquitania in House of Erotica's Flappers, Jazz, and Valentino anthology.

He spends his days in coffee shops writing, his weekends singing and dancing, and his free time traveling the world for inspiration.
