This satire of the War in Iraq--set in New Mexico in early 1847--follows the adventures of the Biloxi Kid and his companions, Cinco the Commanche and Gator Thibodeaux, as they try to escape from George Arnold Reed and his cronies during the Mexican-American War. The Kid must try to clear his name to avoid the hangman's noose but in doing so he uncovers many dark secrets about the high desert town.
