I have been looking for this book for years! Apparently, in all the wrong places. I read this book as a little girl in elementary school and it has stayed with me throughout my now 39 years. I absolutely loved this book and got lost in the story with the poor little girl and cannot wait to read it again. I am so thrilled to have found it...again.

I read this as an eighth grader and was blown away. A book that all children should read and some adults. So delighted that it is in print again.

Even though Fran Ellen has a lot of problems and no one at school likes her, she is an admirable and interesting girl. It makes me feel mad the way those mean girls at school would treat Fran Ellen. I would like a Bear's house like that and I was pulling for this girl.
