This free book, has 677 pages and is the first in a series. It also has a complete conclusion, making it a stand alone novel as well. My thanks to the author. It is pretty well edited. This author like a few others I have read lately has a problem with homonyns, especially site and sight. Once again there is over use of the word smirk. I do not like paranormal books very much and was hesitant to read this novel because the heroine was described as psyhic in the overview. But Beth and her abilities did not play a major role in this book. In fact none of the characters dominated the plot. They all seemed to have an equal standing, which was very nice. The plot for this book was unique and very interesting. I have to say the author has a quite an imagination. I enjoyed this book very much and will read book 2. This is a nice clean read. There is no sex, cursing or religion. There is extreme violence and murder. Some of it was pretty bad, Fargo style was the weapon of choice. There is a mention of rape. Only a small amount of romance is in this murder mystery. There are so many bad guys and they are all so delightfully evil, it was hard to pick just one to dislike. Readers really get their nickel's worth from this suspensful read. Men would enjoy this book, as well as women. Because it is pretty graphic at times, I recommend this book for ages 17 and up. AD

This book is 677 pages but because it kept you intrested did not take long to get through. I did enjoy the book and liked the characters. I was confused about Matt & Edie, would'nt they be cousins? Would'nt Edie be a lot older then Matt if his Grandfather was married to Edie's mother? That part totally has me stumped. Read it and you'll see what I mean. Also found some situations not so beleivable.
