I can live with the first CD. It isn't what I would choose, but it's pretty good. The second CD, with the exception of Jimmy Smith's "Back at the Chicken Shack", needs to be completely redone. A few suggestions: Add Donald Byrd's "Free Flight". Add Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage" and "Dolphin Dance". Add Grant Green's "Idle Moments", Art Blakey's "Free for all", Wayne Shorter's "Adam's Apple", and Joe Henderson's "Mode for Joe", and "Recorda Me". Insert McCoy Tyner's "Passion Dance". Last, but not least, put in Freddie Hubbard's "Open Sesame". That should bring it back up to 4 stars at least. Not the greatest Blue Note CD in the world, but close enough.
