Bell Harbor is a one-million copy bestselling series.

Everyone in Bell Harbor thinks career-minded plastic surgeon Evelyn Rhoades needs a husband. Everyone, that is, except for Evelyn…sort of. Even if she did want a husband (which she doesn’t…most of the time), she’d never let something as intangible as fate determine who she marries. No, if she’s going to find someone to spend her life with, she’ll do it scientifically: with a carefully crafted list of criteria and an Internet dating site.

But when intoxicated, law-breaking Tyler Connelly crashes into her life by way of a stolen Jet Ski, unruly emotions defy common sense. Sure, he’s sexy, charming, and determined to win Evelyn’s affection, but all evidence points to him being the worst possible choice. He’s too young for her. Too irresponsible. Too underemployed. And, oh yeah, he’s her patient.

But Tyler knows firsthand how the best-laid plans can crumble under the weight of destiny. Now all he needs to do is to teach Evelyn that, in matters of the heart, love often supersedes logic.

A good book that catches your attention and keeps it to the end. The doggies in it are an added bonus.

The things that I could say about this book are endless. IT has humor and it has heart. It's not one of those flash in the pan romances it has real body to it. There are times it has you laughing so hard your ribs hurt and there are times when you just feel for the main characters. You get an awesome male lead in the book with the super handsome Tyler. He makes you fall in love with him after you find out everything he has done and why he does it. You feel for him. Then you Evelyn the main female character and you understand her and why things happen to the way they do. You of course have some strong secondary characters and as always they give just the right amount of support, but also in this book they give some of their own laugh out loud moments, just wait until to read about the party Hilary and Gabby take Evelyn to. You also get to catch up with some of the characters from the first book which is always a plus. I will say this one is my favorite out of the Bell Harbor novels.

I was so excited to return to Bell Harbor with all the quirky residents. This book had me hooked from the first sentence, such a fun laugh out loud read. The story of Evie, single,35, and a doctor. Has been to busy in her professional life to find a man. Now her friends, coworkers and mother asking about a husband. She meets Tyler in the Emergency Room as a patient, he is all wrong for her. Her friends have set her up and a dating site. AS she starts going on dates, Tyler keeps popping up to rescue her on these awful dates. Tyler does not fit her husband profile but her heart keeps pulling at him. I did not want to see this book end. I just love the humor the Tracy Brogan brings out in her books. This will be on my reread shelf

Evelyn Rhoades believes that important decisions in life should be approached scientifically.  When her friends talk her into joining an Internet dating site, it’s only natural for her to construct a list of requirements for potential dates.  After all, as a plastic surgeon she’s used to prioritizing things in order of importance.  Why should this be any different?   Things change when she gets called to do a consult for a sexy, young patient named Tyler.  Just the sight of him makes blood rush to places that have been dormant for some time.  Just because he’s tall, with broad shoulders and a perfectly symmetrical face shouldn’t give her the right to think naughty thoughts about him.   With Bell Harbor being the small town that it is, it was no surprise that Evelyn seemed to bump into him everywhere she went.  And Tyler wasn’t shy about trying to convince her to give him a shot.  But one thing’s for sure, he didn’t fit any of the criteria that was on the carefully constructed list of hers.  Will she throw caution to the wind and give Tyler a chance?  Or are her requirements ones that she’s not willing to bend on? The Best Medicine is the second book in the Bell Harbor series.  It’s chock full of zany, lovable characters that make up this laugh out loud, funny story.  As with the first book in the series, I couldn’t put this one down.  The very first sentence draws you in and holds you until the very end.  I can’t praise Tracy Brogan enough for her brilliant writing and incorporation of such gut busting humor.

Great for a relaxed weekend read! My rating: 4 of 5 ¿¿ Plastic surgeon, Dr. Evelyn Rhoades, has not been in Bell Harbor long before small town living is catching up with her. Recently having celebrated her thirty-fifth birthday, her friends and colleagues seem to have decided to help her stay ahead of her rapidly declining years, by way of finding her a man. Granted, she has been a tad pre-occupied with her career thus far, but she hasn't had the shiniest of examples from back home either. Not completely adverse to the idea of hooking up with an eligible future husband, she comes up with a completely logical and scientific method for best match. When Tyler Connelly is brought into the ER, and put in the hands of Evie to stitch up, he iss the opposite of everything she should be looking for. Too young, for starters, drunk and without any reliable source of income with a family that is more trouble than it is worth and to top things off, before she has a chance to finish sewing him up, the cops are there to arrest him. But, he got under her skin and somehow burrows deep and the more she finds out about him, the more it becomes clear that he has gotten a pretty bum rap in life. And suddenly her list of demands and expectations for the perfect husband seems shallow and short-sighted. Tyler never made any bones about the fact that he really was into Evie, age difference be damned, and he pursued her with energy and enthusiasm. It took the tightly buttoned up Evie a while to recognize that life was more precious when enjoyed as it came, instead of trying to stuff it into the plans you created for it. A very light-hearted, humerous and fun story by Tracy Brogan. The characters are endearing and spunky, the dialogue witty and the constant town scrutiny is hilarious. Great for a relaxed weekend read!

Good Book! 4.5 Stars You just never know what you are getting into when you read a book from a "new to you" author. In this particular case, I truly stumbled across a gem because I am now a full-fledged Tracy Brogan fan. Her classical writing style is easy to read and "The Best Medicine" is the perfect combination of emotion, liveliness, humor and romance. Evie Rhoades is a successful plastic surgeon and her biological clock kicked into high gear on her 35th birthday. Now that her professional goals have been achieved through tons of hard work, she is ready to find a husband and start a family. Unfortunately, the local prospects are not very exciting and the online dating service she joined is a joke. Lucky for Evie, gorgeous Tyler Connelly just happens to need stitches and she is the physician on call. Tyler is a great guy. Not only is he sexy and gorgeous, he is an EMT, waiter and dog-walker. He loves his family dearly and will do whatever is necessary to keep them safe and out of trouble, even if that means sacrificing his own happiness. Tyler is on the verge of success and Evie is just the woman to help him. I really liked this book. Evie and Tyler are extremely likeable characters, have great chemistry and put the needs of others ahead of their own. I immediately connected to them as individuals and as a couple. I felt Evie's discomfort about being eight years older than Tyler and loved how Tyler worked through the challenge of being with a woman whose net income was much greater than his. The nosiness of the inhabitants of the small town of Bell Harbor, as well as Evie's parents, provided some very funny laugh out loud moments. Evie's friends Hilary and Gabby contributed some delightful realism to the story. To top it all off, I learned about the latest and greatest sex toys available today, what a hoot. Overall a great read that should not be missed.

I absolutely adored this book! It felt a bit rushed to me at the end but it was still a great read! It had all the aspects I've come to expect from Ms Brogan! I found myself laughing out loud at times and on the verge of tears at others! A great fun read that youre sure to love! Tracy Brogan's writing style reminds me so much of Kristan Higgans, so if you're a fan of Ms Higgans, be sure to check out this author!!!!

I received an early copy of this as a gift and was so happy to be able to read it a little early. Once again, Tracy Brogan has made me fall in love with Bell Harbor and its inhabitants. Poor Evie turns 35 and kind of gets hit over the head with both the well-meaning folks in her new small town and her mother too. "When are you gonna find a husband?" Enter Tyler, who looks perfect in person but not so much on paper and the story goes from there. There were so many parts that were laugh-out-loud funny and I love a book that makes me laugh while also making me fall for the characters. I would highly recommend The Best Medicine as a great summer read!

I feel like I have been waiting forever to return to Bell Harbor but this book makes the wait well worth the wait! Tracy Brogan does not disappoint. All the crazy characters are still in Bell Harbor with a slew of new ones. A great story of finding love where you least expect it with all the warmth and humor we have come to expect. Definitely one I recommend for everyone!
