The Betrayal is the story of Declan Munro and Chloe Sabattini. Declan Munro is an agent of Australian Federal Police Child Protection Agency, and Chloe is the senior IA Investigator for Australian Federal Police. The Betrayal is about how easy someone, in this case, a good friend can frame someone to protect themselves when things go bad. Chloe Sabattini is the lead investigator in Declan case. The story continues, to engage the reader with the blossoming romance between Declan and Chloe entwine with the criminal proceedings. Chloe started to realise Declan was innocence and that started the chain of events leading to the shocking conclusion. I recommend this book.

Reviewed for Read Your Writes Book Reviews by Gemini The Betrayal is the book in the Munro Family Series. It focuses on the second oldest brother, Declan Munro. Declan is an Australian Federal Police Officer that works in the Child Protection Unit. Unfortunately, he comes under investigation for allegedly illegally accessing child pornography from his work computer. This will turn his world upside down and he will feel helpless. Several Munro family members will make an appearance to show their support. Of course, the Senior Internal Affairs Investigator is an attractive woman that he can’t keep his eyes off of named Chloe Sabbatini. The attraction between them is expected. Everything else that happens will definitely catch you off guard. Clearly, Declan has been framed but it’s impossible to guess who is behind the set-up and why. When I found out, I was surprised to say the least. The reason for the set-up is the most interesting piece of the book. Considering the other three books in the series, I went into this book with a very jaded perspective as to how things would play out. I was shocked by the misdirection that ensued. The author did not disappoint with her in-your-face depiction of the sexuality. More importantly, the book had a very steady flow to it that never left you bored. I was very interested in finding out what happened next. There was so much of a mystery that I can’t really tell you much without ruining everything. There’s romance, intrigue, suspense, and sex. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, although I will have to make sure that I don’t go into it with any preconceived notions as to what will happen.
