About the Author

Annika Martin (aka Carolyn Crane) loves extreme heroes, panty-melting books, and taking pictures of her cats. She enjoys hanging out in Minneapolis coffee shops with her writer husband. She’s heavy into running, 90’s grunge music, helping animals, taking long baths, and consuming chocolate suckers. She’s worked a surprisingly large number of waitressing jobs, and has also worked in a plastics factory and the advertising trenches. Her garden is total bee-friendly madness. As Annika, she is a NYT bestselling author; as Carolyn Crane she has won the prestigious RITA award. Website: Annikamartinbooks.com

I liked the book. The characters were engaging, quirky and funny. Laugh out loud funny at times, with enough meat to keep it interesting. I enjoyed reading this.

This was the first book by this author I've ever read. Really cute and funny book. Most of the time, I truly loved Theo and Lizzie. Sasha was one I really wished dire things to happen to. Willow and Mia need books of their own. It was the perfect fun read I needed for my vacation.

Lizzy thought she was living the dream until her boyfriend leaves he takes her heart, her money, her business and leaves her with his debt. She has a plan to pay off the debt but that mean staying employed at Vossameer Inc. and survive the 30 day probation period so she can collect her bonus. If only the arrogant CEO Theo that everyone else seems to love didn’t rub her the wrong way. Theo likes things his own way and that includes receiving a personal wake-up call every morning. When the company he was using fires him as a client Lizzy is tasked with finding another company to fulfill the deed. The only problem is that no other company wants him as a client so she becomes his wake-up call but sunshine and roses she is not and and when she tells him how she feels he is intrigued. As the calls continue the moments become about much more than sexy exchanges and he wants to meet Operation Seven but how will the fantasy match up to reality? The exchanges between Lizzy and Theo were hot and humorous and they have a way of challenging each other which only makes them more perfect together.

The Billionaire’s Wake Up Call Girl is my very first book by Annika Martin and let me just say that I am in love. This book got me from the very first page. I loved the Hero and heroine both equally. And even though this was a romantic comedy, it had me all twisted up. Yes I know in my heart these are going to end in a HEA. But I was so worried about these two and how this was all going to be worked out. I didn’t want to stop reading! Elizabeth (Lizzie) Cooper had everything going for her. She had started a small bakery which was flourishing. And she had fallen in love. Only the man she gave her heart to took a lot more than just her heart. He took her for everything. Now the bakery is closed, she is in debt up to her eyeballs, and a lone shark is showing up at her door with a gun. So, she took a short term job working on the online presence for a pharmaceutical company. If she can keep the job for just one month, she will get a large bonus that will satisfy the lone shark. Just one month! She can do that right? Theo Drummond is CEO of Vossameer. Theo is known for a product he invented but is also known for his surly attitude. He runs his company in a no frills fashion. He wants everyone to concentrate on their duties, not on what he deems frivolous things. The first time Lizzie actually meets Theo, there is something there, eyes meet and hold, electricity sparks. Lizzie isn’t the only one that notices though. Her supervisor, Sasha, picks up on it and doesn’t like it. Lizzie is off men, she needs to keep this job, so she decides to do whatever it takes to make her boss NOT notice her. Wear frumpy clothes, no eye contact, whatever she has to do to keep this job so she can get her bonus. “His hotness has its own force. It has its own gravity. It has its own zip code, miles past the neighborhood of stop staring and deep in the religious experience of beauty zone.” For some reason Theo doesn’t use normal alarm clocks to wake him up at 4:30 in the morning. He uses a wake up service. Only no one will have him. He’s run them all off. It seems he’s not the most friendly in the morning. Lizzie is tasked with finding him a new service but when no one will take the job, she decides to do it herself. How hard could it be? Only things don’t exactly start out on the right foot. But that something is still there, even though Theo doesn’t know who she is, that zing is there over the phone. Their morning conversations become personal, secrets are whispered and soon their talk turns hot, sizzling hot. Theo wants to know who she is, he wants to know her. But Lizzie isn’t sharing. “This woman. I need more of her. I need to know her. I have to find her. And the answer is out there. I’ll crack this puzzle like I crack every other puzzle. I’ll find her name. I’ll find her address. I’ll find her.” Oh my gosh, that right there should have you one clicking like crazy. These two! The secondary characters were amazing as well. Both Lizzie’s roommate, Mia, and Theo’s sister, Willow, were so much fun. This book was perfection. It was fun, sweet, sexy as heck, and like I said before, it had me all tied up as Theo tried everything to figure out the identity of his wake up call girl and Lizzie prepared for the day when the lone shark was going to come knocking and she wouldn’t have the money. I love it when I try a book by a new to me author and fall in love like this.

4.5 stars Let just say you get the chance (with no repercussions) to tell some one how you feel...Priceless, right? Or in Lizzie's case- EPIC! Life altering epicness. In a calamity of coincidence/desperation, Lizzie finds herself making calls at 4:30. AM. That's A-M. 4:30 AM. Ugh! But it's not even really her job... Talk about a spiral out of control! Between her diarrhea of the mouth and the rage, it can't possibly end well. And yet...every thing maybe be on a spiral, but whose to say it's downward? This wildly entertaining book with the smirk inducing name is everything that title means and more! Join Lizzie and Theo's morning calls and find yourself wishing for a little wake up call of your own# Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood

Another homerun. I laughed out loud and then I teared up. If I hadn't been in a public place when I read this I'm pretty sure I would have let the tears roll down my face. I love an author than can put me "in the moment." Can't wait for the next in the series.

Fun, exciting, frustrating, sexy, and an all-around excellent read! With this story, we get to see what happens when a scientist get to make the workplace sensible, logical. The effect that has on the worker's, even while they regard you with awe-like feelings, but the lack of microwave popcorn just rubs them the wrong way. What if someone said what they thought, and what if they were caught? What if anonymity in the workplace is the only way to survive, but your real thoughts were expressed in a phone call you thought hadn't happened? What if your boss liked it? The story starts with a feeling of the man behind the cloak is the mystery, and it is revealed that it is, but the story then moves to the woman behind the calls, and doing what she needs to survive. The bad lady in the story, she is a wicked witch and I cringed when she came around, she gets her comeuppance, but not after doing some damage a few times. The wizard that is Theo Drummond is not all he seems, but his unawareness of his single-mindedness makes him so endearing. Lizzie is just trying to make it through the pitfalls her life is tossing at her along the way. She has figured out how to get where she needs to be, and is missing the big things along the way in her journey. While catching the small things, and gathering supporters, her past is affecting her present, when the situations are not at all similar. She learns, finally, sometimes, the tequila is right, which is an important life lesson and just when all hope is lost, or so it seems, a certain white pup saves the day, yet again . Yes, near the very end, when our climax is nearly ruined, by a person doing their job all too well, of course, *squee* Smuckers makes an appearance!!!!!! (if you are like, WTH, you'll get it when you see it) This book had me giggling, cringing, and on the edge of tears for our perfect pair so many times. I loved, loved, loved it all!
