About the Author

Susanne O'Leary is the bestselling author of fifteen novels, mainly in the romantic fiction genre. She has also written three crime novels and two in the historical fiction genre. She has been the wife of a diplomat (still is), a fitness teacher and a translator. She now writes full-time from either of two locations, in a ramshackle house in County Tipperary, Ireland or in a little cottage overlooking the Atlantic in Dingle, County Kerry. When she is not scaling the mountains of said counties (including MacGillycuddy's Reeks, featured in her recently published crime novel, Full Irish), or keeps fit in the local gym, she keeps writing, producing a book every six months

What a treat! ... with some learning/thinking opportunities @ Irish and world politics -- and bullying.... And friendships. And love. 5 stars!

A timely piece that exposes some of today's critical issues, done in a way that jar's the reader with sense and sensibility, and enveloped in a story of hope, compassion and love.

I really enjoyed this book that had a great mystery and twisty romance. Filona is a charming hero who comes across as a real down to earth and gutsy lady with plenty of smarts. The pace is fast and never slows down. While there are some sexy parts they are done well. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I really enjoyed the first half of the book, The Blow-In by Susanne O'Leary. Finola McGee is a strong female character who stands for justice and quits her work as a reporter because of all the corruption she had been reporting on. She moves to the country to become the editor of a small town paper. When she tries to find out why the previous editor left in a rush, she is warned that as a blow-in (newcomer)  she should keep her nose to herself. There is potential romance between Finola and two other characters: Colin, the world-famous actor, and Rory, a local farmer. As she tries to sort out her feelings toward each, Finola probes into the reason for the previous editor's departure and finds politics, corruption, and bullying. At that point, the story fizzles. The romantic scenes are bland; Colin's and Rory's character fall flat, the mystery is resolved too simplistically, and the ending feels rushed. I was disappointed. Too bad, it had great promise.

The characters were easy to identify with. I like strong women stories!
