This album is extremely difficult to describe but it is, most certainly, lovely stuff. The path of each song isn't quite like anything else I've heard; it's remarkably unpredictable and surprising. "Nebulous" would be a fair one-word evaluation. Sadly, all the Italian lyrics are gone but the band's penchant for stirring melodies (vocal and guitar) is still strong. The opening moments of "Triestitaliana" are pure gold, "Cobalt of March" is magical in its progressive intensity, and two songs (back-to-back) in the middle of the CD tone things down a bit but the cathartic moment of "Cantus Christi" is beyond overwhelming in its fury while being refined and controlled at the same time. Without a CD released in 5 years, the last song epitomizes what appears to be this band's final gift to the world: a mesmerizing journey of astonishing beauty and incredible sonic power. Sublime music, bar none.
