Truly, the weary must earn their rest.
The old man lay, broken and dying, after hundreds of years journeying and making the most of his extended life. He's helped hundreds, likely thousands, and now he is waiting to finally move on from this dimension into whatever lies beyond the grave. But despite his pain, his exhaustion and the burdens he's borne for such a long time, his spirit is called into service once more...as it has been since That strange Night in the before-time...to go where no one else can go, to do what no one else can do, to right a wrong that should have been finished at least two hundred years before. All he wants to do is finally join his family and friends in rest and whatever lies beyond. But we don't always get a say in what we are called to do, and we don't always get our way no matter how much we've earned it.
