About the Author

Charlene Crawford, certified teacher and former director of Christian Education at HVPC, has worked with children and literature for over 33 years. She has earned her bachelor's degree in education and her master's degree in computers and technology in the classroom. Crawford recently obtained her "plus 30" in educational leadership and principal administration. Upon completion of that program, she returned to Arcadia University to complete their certification program for ELL. Charlene was the owner of Crawford Education Plus, a successful tutoring program for 15 years. She is also a published poet. Crawford was the recipient of the 2007 Editors Choice Award for her poem African Woman of God. Her first published book, Adventures with Granny in the Garden, was just nominated Best Children's Christian Book of the year. This 1998 Outstanding Educator award recipient, former talk show host for "Living Abundantly," Camp Director, and Appointed Reading Specialist for the Philadelphia I.Y.W.C.C.
