If you love Christmas movies, as in you check the Hallmark Channel guide starting in July, then hang on to your stockings, because here comes the merriest of indulgences. It's "The Proposal" meets "The Holiday" in print.

First meet Robyn Lane. She's always dated struggling creative types, including her current squeeze (Perry, an actor). For this year's Chrismukkah celebration, her parents would love her to bring someone stable, reliable, steadily employed. You know, with health insurance and a 401(k).

Now let's meet Sidney Bellows. Her parents already plan her professional life (she's an attorney at her father's law firm). If she brings her current boyfriend (Will, an attorney) to the family Christmas extravaganza, her parents will have their wedding planned by New Year's Eve.

Leave it to a mutual friend (and copious amounts of wine) to find a playful solution: Swap those boyfriends, fool the parents, and enjoy the holidays. It's perfect! Robyn can show off a successful attorney boyfriend, and Sidney's high-society family won't ring those wedding bells when they meet a flaky actor beau.

The fun isn't in the theory, it's in the practice.

Will turns out to be the boy-next-door Robyn crushed on hard throughout her teenage years. Sidney's family fawns all over Perry like he's an Oscar-winner rather than a D-list wannabe.

Fool the parents? Enjoy the holidays? Swapping boyfriends never sounded so good or went so bad. Take time to read this one. It's like Christmas in July.

Check out the full review at Kritters Ramblings Robyn and Sidney end up at a happy hour/party of sorts and after a few adult beverages they are complaining about the upcoming holidays and how their families will react to their current boyfriends when they realize that they are dating what they think their families will see as their ideal, so why not swap for the holidays!

Every book by Meredith Schorr has turned into a must-read for me. When she offered The Boyfriend Swap I knew that I wouldn’t be able to turn it down. Now that I am done with the book it is on my must-read list too. When the plan was for hatched for the boyfriend swap I could see that there would be hiccups, fun, and hopefully some romance. I enjoyed seeing the traditions of Robyn and Sidney’s families. Their celebration of Christmas was a family experience and it was fun to see how different their families were. Robyn’s family seemed more my style, with the sing a longs, presents, and meals. I felt that I could relate to her more than Sidney’s high style, fancy, expensive celebrations. Yet, both families were fun and interesting. As the story went on I found myself laughing, smiling, and thoroughly enjoying every page. The Boyfriend Swap is a book I’d definitely recommend picking up. Thank you Meredith Schorr and NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Are you a "relationship of convenience" junkie? Then do yourself a favor and get a copy of The Boyfriend Swap by Meredith Schorr. This entertaining story takes place during the holiday season, and there are two couples in the staring role. Robyn is an elementary school music teacher who is still in love with Will, her high school crush. Unbeknown to Robyn, Will just happens to be dating Robyn's roommate's boss. Robyn needs a date for the holiday festivities at her parent's house, and only a non-creative type will do. So bringing her present boyfriend, a very good-looking actor, is not an option. Sydney is an attorney with her father's firm, and she has no desire to talk shop while decking the halls. So bringing her attorney boyfriend to the family Christmas gathering will only add fuel to the fire. Luckily her assistant has a solution, trade boyfriends in order to enjoy the holidays. Feelings blossom between both of the new couples, which makes for an engaging story. This is primarily a clean read, with nicely developed characters and sexual tension. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

Meredith Schorr has put together a story that would merit being a Hallmark Christmas Special. Sidney is a lawyer only interested in billable hours. Robyn shares her love of music and theater with her students. Both of these women have boyfriends that share the same interests as they enjoy. SO... WHY do they not want to take them home for their family Christmas?? Will is a lawyer and Perry is an actor. Family pressure to find the perfect love interest forces these women to pursue a swap in guys to make Mom and Dad happy and eliminate their constant nagging. Opposites attract and the sparks ignite in this enjoyable holiday story. Quick read that is perfect to curl up with. "A copy of this book was provided by Henery Press via Netgalley with no requirement for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."
