The Boys from Syracuse [1963 Off-Broadway Revival Cast]

1938 saw the creation of one of Rodgers & Hart's most successful musicals, The Boys From Syracuse. The basic plot was taken from Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, a tale of mistaken identity and misplaced twin brothers. In the original production, Lorenz Hart's younger brother, a comedian named Teddy, was featured in a prominent role as one of the servants (both named Dromio). Highlights in the score include "Falling in Love With Love," "What Can You Do With a Man?," and "Sing for Your Supper." This recording, from the 25th anniversary off-Broadway production, holds up well. A perfectly good version of a completely engaging musical.
